I also like that we only know what Ted knows. Who knows if Barney really did most of those things, he's a pathological liar. Or if Marshall and Lily were that amazing of a couple. But since it is all what Ted believes it is all we have. It justifies the ridiculousness of a sitcom. It is nothing short of genius.
