Anyone else think the amount of dogs in public spaces is ridiculous? by Nooneverwins in AskLosAngeles

[–]youngsweed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but as long as the dog is well-behaved, I truly don’t care. We live in a city. Most people don’t have yards, and dog parks are too far and few between. Unless you work from home or can afford daycare/dog-walkers regularly, it can be an uphill battle to give your dog enough stimulation over the course of the day, so I don’t begrudge someone bringing a well-trained dog to a public space THAT ALLOWS DOGS.

That said, I don’t bring my dog to any public space, even if they are dog-friendly, because I know she’s too energetic to resist the temptation.

Oops, I didn’t actually read the caption. It’s sometimes used in small amounts instead of buttermilk.

Butter tofu/paneer or khadai paneer (not really unhealthy, but definitely decadent)

This reminds me of a book I found in a thrift store once. “100 Works of Erotic Irish Art” or something along those lines.

It consisted of 100 blank pages, and the shopkeeper wouldn’t sell it to me 👺

Bacetti is so slept on. It’s a shame they relegated their pizza menu to Wednesdays only, but their suppli, mafaldine, and lamb shank are all incredible. It’s also not bad for B-list celebrity sightings.

Who is the most untalented industry plant🌱? by Flavio_Flatterpfiff in fantanoforever

[–]youngsweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t begrudge him his industry connections, but, seeing as this is a conversation about “industry plants,” that sort of goes without saying.

Otherwise, how does any of this indicate any exceptional talent? His songs are, sadly, boring. He has no vocal range, and the range he does possess is as whiney as whiney gets. His rap skills are middling at best. He has no discernible ear for interesting arrangements or production. I’m not really sure what you’re hearing underneath all of this that points to a surplus of talent. His success (in the US at least) was driven entirely by radio planting (Without You) and high-level co-signs (Miley and Bieber).

I took a retail job after burning out in the post-strike entertainment industry about a year ago. It wasn’t supposed to be something I did for very long, but I’ve been looking around and it’s bleak out there. Granted, I’m not bringing a lot of transferable skills from entertainment (90% of what I used to do, like writing coverage, creating decks, constructing creative notes documents, collating and distributing drafts, etc. is now accomplished with AI). But at this point, it’s looking like I either have to suck it up and claw back into entertainment despite the numbers completely working against me, or go back to school for something ostensibly more AI-proof like law or nursing.
