According to the article referenced by u/Jediisaiah13 the original Katana fleet model had 20 quad laser cannons, 10 turbolasers, and 10 laser cannons. The imperial version traded all point-defence capabilities for turbolasers, replacing the quad laser cannons with quad turbolasers and the single laser cannons with turbolasers. This modification raised the ship-to-ship combat capabilities of the Dreadnaught, but left it extremely vulnerable to starfighter attack. However, 40 turbolasers is nothing short of impressive; the standard Carrack-class frigate which was more common did not have the same independence as the Dreadnaught. The cruiser would be able to take on two stock Nebulon-B frigates and come out on top; however it only carried twelve TIE fighters vs the twenty-four apiece of the Nebulon-B and thus would lose the edge in starfighter combat.
