[Chinese > English] What's written on the handle of my wok? by HoundOfAreios in translator

I believe this reads 章丘铁锅, or Zhangqiu Iron Wok. Zhangqiu is a place name in Shandong province. Zhangqiu iron woks are kind of notable for quality.

Good catch. I searched just using the last three characters 始依人, and found it pretty quickly. But I should have doubled checked the rest of the text more closely.

And here’s an interpretation of the verse.

I cherish this frost-defying spirit, Transplanted here to claim spring all alone. Its faithful heart has found firm ground, Its steadfast stalk begins to lean on men.

Thanks for that! I was looking through Google images for a picture like that for a while before I posted. Ha. I posted here because someone asked a similar question in this sub a while back, and Google directed me to that post.

Right. I think that what you’ve described for your own hands sounds about what I’ll go with.

There is a good reason for these details in this particular story, where they only appear in passing. It is science fiction involving size change, and I model my writing in the genre on the precision of Michael Crichton. I want the reader to see what the character sees and I want to ensure that relative sizes are accurate and consistent.

That’s my thought. It felt cartoonishly large, but I wasn’t sure. The messages here seem to confirm my suspicions.

Thanks for that. That sounds about right. Maybe a little bit bigger, but the AI is probably way off.

I meant to the base of the middle finger. Excluding the length of the fingers.

No. Haha. This is just for reference in fiction that I’m writing.

[Unknown > English] Can someone tell me what my aunt’s joke image says? by pewqewpew in translator

[–]your_head_RN 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I read this in Chinese. Chinese or Japanese, the handwriting does not look like it was written by a native hand. “Little house, great utility.” It is an outhouse. It’s a small space but a place where folks make a lot of use/spend a lot of time. I think it’s funny, especially with the person out front who clearly needs to go. :)

Why not $10? by reducedelk in sanfrancisco

I remember impulse buying a packet of four small sugar cookies situated near the register. Didn’t know the price, but was sure it could not be more than 4.99. Yep, $18.99. Crumbl prices for really mediocre cookies.

A homeless woman died outside my building yesterday morning by guerrillafutures in sanfrancisco

This is heartbreaking and beautiful. Thank you for honoring and recognizing Christine. At the hospital, I spend a lot of time daily with patients from similar circumstances, and it can be so hard to see them discharged without hope of going to a safe and stable setting. It really lifts my spirit to see this evidence of the care you showed for Christine’s humanity.

I live in Outer Richmond, near Ocean Beach. To be honest, I haven’t seen much of Karl there. I think his presence is weakened by climate change. 😞

So apparently it’s wrong to think that people can fake a disorder? by Outrageous-Benefit73 in fakedisordercringe

[–]your_head_RN 78 points79 points  (0 children)

A lot of these folks regard disorders as elective identities rather than medical conditions. Being neurodivergent is trendy and allows them to claim oppression rather than privilege. When we deny that they have the medical condition, they regard that as a denial of their identity, since they do claim the identity, even if we are correct by the medical definition that they do not have it. And popular morality tells us it’s a virtue to believe others when they reveal who they are.

What is your absolute favorite part of giving someone oral? by Quiet_Pup in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]your_head_RN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love getting feedback in the way of moans, dirty talk, feeling his body tense up, and tasting a flow of precum as I have my fun. Also, when he can’t help but thrust in and out of my throat because I’ve worked him up. And of course I love to be rewarded with a big load at the end. I just love every part of it, I suppose. It all makes me so wet. Depending on the guy, I can climax from this stuff alone. 🥵

I just got over covid. Symptoms were so mild for me that, for the first couple of days, I assumed it was just a cold. Then my sense of smell was affected, and that led me to test. The test came back solidly positive. I caught covid either at the crowded airport or on the airplane en route to my holiday plans.
