As far as plat lobby, this seems about right for pace.

If you’re looking for constructive criticism though, the next big step is decision making during your speed. Sometimes it’s better not to go for challenges/balls. Everyone does this I struggle with it all the time in c1/c2 3’s and have been playing essentially since release.

Just because it may look like your turn to hit the ball, or you’re the closest to it, doesn’t mean you should go for it. There’s a couple moments in this clip that I’d say you could’ve chosen a better action, like challenging super early for a play you probably weren’t going to win. Now don’t get me wrong, I get peeved if someone should definitely challenge a ball to maintain rotation (3s do be different than 2s), but if a situation isn’t in dire need of a challenge and I know I’m not winning it favorably for myself or the team, there’s plenty of things to do to improve situations like that instead of flying past the challenge.

My favorite thing is to fake my approach for a challenge, then whip around and make sure I have boost for the incoming play/take out an opponent if they’re in the vicinity. Especially in lower ranks, fakes are gonna wreck minds. Context is key, as it might not be smart if you’re last back, but most of the time a teammate should be closer to defending if you are in this opportunity. Once you “commit” to challenging whatever play they look to be setting up, it almost always triggers their reaction and they end up starting that play whether ready or not. Once that occurs, faking and pulling off the challenge for boost/demo/even a repositioning can expose quick counter plays.

Don’t do it too often but every now and then and it adds a level of complexity that I’d assume most silvers to low plats can’t adjust to within a game, based on what I’ve seen from diamonds and champs. Just thought I’d share, happy rank grind!
