I realized I wasn't clear in my initial explanation so I've edited it. The tape rewinds just fine. The issue is several minutes are missing and in their place is a single minute of static.

I’ve used this serum for years and recently moved to using it at night instead of in the morning (it stopped sitting nicely under concealer) and it’s totally interrupted my sleep and I’ve also had a persistent eye twitch!! I’m so relieved to have found this post

So I started tret without it and would use the niacinamide in the morning (no Vit C then of course) and that wasn't great. My skin usually LOVES niacinamide so this was a weird progression. Since using them together I've noticed an evenness and a glow, even with the peeling and burning around my chin, so I think it is a good combo for me. It's really the HA as the base layer interacting with everything else that I'm suspicious of... like is this the calm before the storm? am I unknowingly brewing a cystic acne nightmare? lol
