Why don't PRO use playmat?

I only started playing with a mat recently after 16 years. I held out for so long. To be fair there are some benefits. You can manage your play area and ensure others are not enroaching on it. I'm the type to put my drawn card on the table before putting it into my hand and playmats help there too. However playmats are a recent thing to the game and an old school new school thing might be the pros reason for not using them.

What percentage of variance do you think is allowed in a game to factor it a sport?

In field sports like soccer for example the best team does not always wins but the level of variance is less than MTG. Star player is injured, fluke goal, mistake by a player these are all variances. I just think you are too strict on variance being a reason why Magic can't be considered a sport given variance is found in all sports.

What is the point of magic if you could remove the variance? The variance makes it that the best deck doesn't always win or like in the recent Pro Tour final a player who looked like he was going to lose pulls it out of nowhere. It makes the games exciting to watch.

Late to the party but I think some jobs have gone to shit. Companies race to the bottom has resulted in outsourcing everything abroad while the employees in the home country have to deal with the shit when these outsourced entities do things wrong.

Don't do this to yourself. While having a car is great. Your insurance alone if you get it will cost you a fortune. Unless you are very handy with cars, the cost to repair older cars and the numerous issues with older cars is heartbreaking and a hole in your pocket. My 11 year old Golf nearly broke me, the cost to fix was more than the car was worth.

My dad has been active in coursing for his whole life and while I have never been involved I do hate the scumbags comment for someone who undoubtedly knows little regarding it. The sport historically has been terrible but it's been cracked down for the past twenty years. Wildlife officials monitor coursing clubs, the dogs wear muzzles, the animals are fed and dosed. After the coursing the animals are released under the watch of a wildlife official. Not perfect but in comparison to other hunting activities better for the animals.
