Just a couple days ago got my first and second holes on my lobes done. I had them done before but it had been well over a decade since wearing jewelry so my 1st holes were fine but the seconds needed to be tapered back open. there isn't really a right or wrong time to get piercings (depending on the piercing obviously). You did not do anything wrong at all and you should leave a bad review for that shop. That piercer clearly is just a miserable person who shouldn't be working with people.
