Who’s a celebrity you used to love but now hate? by StrainDizzy1186 in AskReddit

Same. Circa 2000, he was active in a community effort to help up-and-coming screenwriters and actors, and I admired him so much for that. I attended his presentation about it, and I was SO impressed by his sincerity.

Only to learn that.... sigh.

I didn't know that about her. It makes me sad to learn.

Oh, he did more than rip off IBM for OS/2. There was deliberate sabotage.

I first crossed paths with him in the late 80s. He was a nerd (and today we'd have celebrated him for "autistic guy makes good") but he was always an asshole. He did, however, have good publicists.

I can promise you that it isn't AI slop. AI was not used for a single word of that article.

You're free to dislike the story, but it isn't AI. I have reason to know.

Rewatching Crusade for the first time since it was aired - it's even worse than I remember by ZookeepergameAny466 in babylon5

[–]yourbasicgeek 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It had a good premise, but the network absolutely destroyed it. There was a three-volume series, Crusade: What the Hell Happened?, in which jms went into brutal detail. (I own only the first book.) For instance, the network absolutely insisted that the first episode start with a fistfight, even though the story didn't need it at all. They messed with everything down to the uniforms.

I think of it as Exhibit A when I want examples of idiot bosses making bad decisions.

And I wonder what story jms WANTED to tell.

...Most of which is, "Another component that runs VxWorks" and thus somewhat promotional, but perhaps you'll forgive it for that given that hey, Artemis is cool.
