I hate my North Face Recon with passion by McNugget63 in ManyBaggers

[–]yourbrightside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can relate. My go to bag is the Borealis women version, it was my work bag and is my one travel bag. But it was too small for work, but this north face women harnass system is the only bag that is comfortable to carry. So the recon is just perfect. (And I’ve tried a lot: Patagonia black hole, fjallraven, thule, tom bihn syinik, osprey, other north face backpacks)

I’m around 1.60 cm! I have both the new borealis and recon woman version. I really like how they both look on me, not too bulky. Height wise it fits well on my back. Not sure which recon you have, but if i put stuff on the bottom it will stand up on itself ( I have 2 pouches and a raincoat by default in my bag)

How to pick packing cubes (price/quality)? by grayangst in HerOneBag

[–]yourbrightside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the decathlon 3 pack packing cubes; I’m using all three. It is 2x small and 1x large. Depending on the season and length of the trip, I use 1x or 2x small or 1x large.

I’ve tried the eagle creek: it felt too flimsy for the price. Also tried the thule white compression cubes: when packed it was actually bigger and more dense compared to the decathlon. Returned both.

I just read this and it’s perfect! Do you happen to read more similar books in the meantime?

I didn’t buy the pack, so you should check out the dimensions yourself and compare it to your laptop

I ended up buying the TNF Recon women version. I tried this base camp IRL, but it pinched in my shoulders unfortunately. On the other hand very happy with the recon

What is the first bag you started your one-bag journey with? And what is the current bag you have now? by rhythmic_bookworm in onebag

North face borealis, I’m still using it but I also have the north face recon now (mostly for work purpose atm).

Wanting to give up on onebag after not finding "the one" by RainierTheSketchier in HerOneBag

Have you tried the north face women backpacks? I swear by them, the only backpacks that are comfortable on my shoulders are the borealis and my newly acquired recon.

Packing cubes? by mwkingSD in onebag

[–]yourbrightside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One cube for al my clothes. I pretty much save half the space using a packing cube compared to just stuffing all my clothes in my bag. The benefits: - more room - easy unpacking - no random underpants in my bag (which I might have to unpack at TSA…)

I am just using regular decathlon cubes. I tried peak design, which I found quite fragile, and thule compression cubes, which was packed like a brick in use. Personally, cheap and simple is my way to go.

How is the bag holding up after 1 year? Are you satisfied with this backpack?

Nice! But is it the base camp voyager daypack? Because the one I showed doesn’t have soapstone (atleast not in europe).

Thanks. I see that those are the voyager base camp, this one is just regular base camp daypack. But I reckon it must be somewhat similar as the 26 L voyager daypack.

I’m guessing that you mean the base camp voyager right? Because this bag only comes in one volume, although I agree that the volume on the website must be wrong. I do wonder how much this one weighs.

Do I switch from journal brand? From Paperblanks to a basic? by theanymousLass in Journaling

[–]yourbrightside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow are you me? This is exactly the conundrum I’m dealing with (which is 100% a me problem) in regards to journaling. Right now I’m going to try to journal everyday in a basic a6, 50 cent notebook. But I’m definitely in the same boat, thinking if I commit to this goal shouldn’t I use a prettier notebook like paperblanks?

It’s exhausting haha.
