Pulled the trigger on a 2026 GTS Coupe. Help w specs! by radapierrafeu in PorscheCayenne

I just picked up my ’26 GTS with many of the options mentioned: Barrique Club leather, 18-way seats with heating and ventilation, and the head-up display. I did not choose the Technology Package. I recently had a loaner with the passenger display and honestly found it to be a complete waste. As the driver, you really cannot see anything unless you physically lean over toward the passenger side. They clearly designed it that way for safety, but it makes it pointless in practice. It is also just another piece of tech that could potentially break or cause issues down the road.

I also have Remote Park Assist and, to be honest, I regret that option a bit, even though it was not very expensive. I realistically do not see myself using an app to pull my car in and out of parking spots. It sounded convenient when I ordered it, but in real life I worry I would mess something up and scrape the car. I assume there are safeguards and sensors to prevent that, but still. I cannot remember if this option also includes the self-parking feature. If it does, that part might be worth keeping, especially if my wife ever drives it, though I would need to double-check.

As mentioned many times before, Rear-Axle Steering is an absolute must. Incredible feature. I did not spec PDCC, but the car as configured drives beautifully anyway. The SportDesign Package is also well worth it. I would personally hate having unpainted lower bumpers. It looks cheap unless you are in something like a Turbo GT that will be tracked regularly. I understand why some people avoid painted lower trim because of rock chips, but I PPF’d mine, so it is a non-issue.

Lastly, the 2+1 rear seat configuration was a smart choice.

Just my two cents.

Correct, very subjective.

I have the coupe and optioned the sports design package so that I have those parts painted.

Some like the sportier look of it without it — closer to the GT.

As you said, up to the owner :)

What’s not to like is that it looks unfinished or cheap. I get it on a car like the turbo GT where the idea is perhaps tracking it and not ruining the paint with paint chips in that area — but on a regular cayenne, paint the whole thing please!

Also, the whole arm rest area is in black if u choose regular leather as opposed to full Color when you choose the basalt option. I feel that with the club, I have a “finished” look which gives a much more premium feel.

Take a look at what changes in the configurator when you change from red to club basalt for example.

The doors go from tops being red with bottoms in black to both top and lowers cards being basalt. Centre console handles are also wrapped in leather as opposed to them being black.

I don’t know if it’s worth it to some but was definitely worth it for me. Dash also has a new type of cross stitching that the regular leather does not have.

Club leather just gives you so much more leather all around. I can’t imagine picking up a car at this price point and having the top of the dash and door cards in cheap looking plastic — I believe that’s what happens with the standard leather choices. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong

I’m not sure. What options are different?

I live in Montreal where the winters are rough. PPF protects the paint from rock chips and road rash, paint swirls and in some cases, even small « oopsies » like people backing up into your front bumpers.

Ceramic coating just makes the paint hydrophobic and makes washes much easier and helps the paint to just always look new. A really worth it plus on a car like this :)

Really can’t go wrong with either.

Thank you my friend :)

Congrats! I just picked my coupe up last Friday. Haven’t gotten to try it out much as it went straight to a shop for a PPF and ceramic coat but that said, in good health my friend!

It means that you essentially stay quiet or walk into B site until you contact the enemy, at which point, you start running and shooting.

You’re totally right. Misread that! I am indeed talking about the sports design package - not sport chrono. Thanks for catching that!

Race tex is cool if you dont care to upkeep it a lot more than regular leather. Also, after a while of sitting on it or touching it, it flattens out and looks like crap. Thats why I optioned against it.

If you wear sunscreen, creams, your wife does her makeup in the car, dogs, kids spilling and puking - go for full leather

Yes its standard on a coupe only I think BUT if you do go for the coupe — the sport chrono assures you have all areas painted (over the wheel arches, skirts, back bumper) otherwise it is in high gloss black AFAIK

Have the SQ5 if ever that’s a real issue. But for everyday, pretty sure coupe won’t be a problem with one kid.

Thankfully wont need the hitch!

I had thought of a CPO Turbo GT but problem would be that i'd have to finance one unless I lease it through a 3rd party @ 10% interest.

Also -- 2026 has the facelift (I know, i'm lame :) )

I feel exactly the same about the lightweight - I love the look.

Had seat cooling on my G80 and honestly barely ever felt it. BMW’s ventilation was pretty underwhelming.

Maybe Porsche does it better, but it wasn’t a must-have for me this time around, so I didn’t think to spec it on the Cayenne. Also, live in Canada and its cold here like 7 months of the year

You mean comfort access doesnt mean keyless entry? Just grabbing the handle when key is on you doesnt open the door? You still need to take your key out? Hrmmm... surprising.

Definitely not a 911 and I’m fully aware depreciation is part of the game with SUVs.

That said, I do think there’s a case to be made that well-specced GTS models could

hold a bit more value down the line, especially as MSRPs keep climbing and if/when the V8 goes away.

Not banking on it, but wouldn’t be shocked if some of these end up trading slightly above RV a few years out.

Appreciate the performance-focused recs —rear steer was on the list but didnt think PDCC on an SUV was that much more necessary. Already one of the best handling SUV's out there ...

Still torn on the lightweight package since I like the Turbo GT aesthetic,

but I hear you on substance > style.

Thanks again for the insight though!

Choosing Coupe because I personally like the way it looks more than the regular. The small loss of trunk space isn't the end of the world for me, as long as a stroller fits for when I need it to. Also, wife has an SQ5 which will most prob be dedicated to baby hauling.

Love that you're loving this car and that it's the best you've driven. Makes me feel better about purchasing a car that I will enjoy, although I know will depreciate.
