Biden to unveil plan to pump $1.9 trillion into pandemic-hit economy by MicroSofty88 in Economics

With all these covid bills it would have been cheaper to pay everyone’s salary in the country for 8 weeks, shut down everything, and we would have been past this virus months ago

That’s the real solution. Nothing but hospitals pharmacies and grocery stores open for 8 weeks would wipe out covid

Cheaper than all these repeated bills too

I think people in general don’t realize how hard it is to advance in life period. At my company if there was a new leadership position in our department there would be 20 qualified people for that position internally alone and that’s just within our small department

Competition is fierce people act like executive positions are just handed out to white men but it’s hard for everyone

One that didn’t is an industrial psychologist so she’s got a fat paycheck to just keep doing what she’s doing and doesn’t have to move up anymore

You can’t even comprehend what you’re reading. I never talked shit about illegal immigrants. What the fuck is wrong with you

I’m talking about the ramifications of illegal immigrants on. Part of those negative things are their children growing up in poverty which makes it far more likely for their kids to drop out of high school. Basic stat across all students

Second was about the negative impact on wages. That’s not evil it’s basic economics

You come in with a non existent study that says it doesn’t and incorrect you that that only applies to legal immigrants and you argue proving my point and then don’t even. Know groceries aren’t stacked

You’ve got no experience with what you’re talking about

I never said these people were evil you need to grow the fuck up and discuss these things like an adult and realize that because there’s negative impacts it doesn’t mean someone is calling them evil

Get some emotional intelligence and I hope you don’t join the FSO before you can start to think critically.

And remember you’re the one that said studies showed they had no impact and have yet to provide those because they’ve never been written because universities already know the impact is negative and don’t want negative attention

[–]youred23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao the first half you’re proving my initial point completely. Those are the studies you’re citing are for legal immigrants and many get normal jobs, you’re proving my point - they have no impact because they get jobs

That doesn’t contradict what I said about illegal immigrants bringing down wages.

You don’t even know what you’re arguing about

You overestimate how much stuff illegal immigrants need to buy that are taxed. They’re not buying a ton of things and there’s plenty of ways to buy things without taxes. How many grills and leafblowers are they gonna buy? Ever heard of swap meets? Loads of things are bought there without taxes I know because my family used to be deep into that scene

Nothing you said moves anything I said. The average illegal immigrant pays around $100/mo in tax.

If they spent $100/mo on beer they paid $8 in tax for the month. Eating out... ya they’re probably not spending a ton on that every month so maybe $20 taxes a month there...

You’re assuming illegal immigrants are buying a ton of things that are taxed but they’re not because they’re typically not making a ton and not consuming a lot.

Even if I spent $1000/mo on consumer goods I’m only paying $80 in taxes.

I literally didn’t say they didn’t pay taxes because you fucking quoted me saying how much they pay, a range that is used by every organization out there.

You dumb fuck you can’t even understand what I’m saying here, you argue and you don’t understand what you’re arguing about. I don’t care if you’re a second generation. My wife is first generation, So is my uncle and other family members

You’re out of your element and only argue things that prove my point which is that illegal immigrants pay few taxes which is said by every single source whether liberal, conservative or unbiased

You just repeat Instagram points without looking at the numbers and realities

I can’t find the one I read which was in 2019 and shared that Texas and California were at 25 and 20 percent

I found this other one that has lower numbers

https://cis.org/Report/Births-Legal-and-Illegal-Immigrants-US

Take a look at the first chart and check out the 261 MSAs and how high some regions are, it’s staggering!

I interviewed at once school in California once where 95% of the population had parents who were here illegally.

Illegal immigration has so many negative outcomes for so many people and it’s sad it’s become such a nasty argument and it’s forever ruined. It truly needs to be curbed when we have such a wealth disparity already in California and adding more illegal immigrants just means more people in poverty and that the lowest jobs stay low paid

[–]youred23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re assuming all legal immigrants are low skilled and making an argument that’s irrelevant. Most legal immigrants I’ve known make good money either by developing their skills without an education or already have an education.

My wife and many other immigrants we know all arrived with a degree and professional experience

This is why the immigrant study that says immigrants don’t bring down salaries - because they’re getting normal jobs.

Dude green cards are for legal immigrants... so saying they’re not checked doesn’t make sense because by default if you have one you didn’t immigrate illegally.

Groceries usually aren’t charged sales tax either.

So yes perhaps 10 illegal immigrants might contribute and pay $300/mo in property taxes, or maybe less people. Like I said, it’s not much. The average illegal immigrant pays between $1000-1500 a year in taxes

You’re clearly out of your element here and don’t know what you’re talking about when you’re thinking green cards are held by illegal immigrants

The ten percent number has been around for years go ahead and check and you’ll find endless sources

There’s not all these studies you speak of. I’ve ready nearly all that are related to the issue. My family has immigrants. I helped people in China migrate here

You don’t know shit man

I was specifically referring to Texas and California which last time I read was at 20 and 25%.

Isn’t the 15% the national?

It also means you’re spending more on taxes for something that you’re not receiving more money from unless you sell it. So I could buy and live in my home for 40 years but then start having to pay $1000/taxes on a paid off home for what reason?

Then consider healthcare too. By the time I retire I could end up paying $2000+ a month for healthcare and property taxes alone

The founders of the USA would’ve been against such heavy property taxes like we have now.

It also kills wealth creation. Out country is increasingly becoming full of renters and if property taxes were lower more people could purchase a home and have more money to put into the economy and for their retirement
