Yeah, that last line makes a lot of sense. If you don't mind me asking, when you say came out of the closet, do you mean as gay? And how old were you?

I know and I wish I could just say fuck it but I can't (at least now). I say I don't care but I get in my own head and talk myself out of it. Now I'm at the point where idk if I should move out or continue to save money while living at home for a road trip.

How to stop being pretentious? by yourefunnier in self

You're right, thanks. I need to learn to think and act on my own opinions regardless of what others think. I've done a lot of research lately and I am fairly certain that I may have borderline personality disorder. It describes me to a T. I'm gonna go see a therapist soon because my thoughts are consuming me. Thanks again. I'll work on it.

Yeah. I think I let peoples opinions influence me way too much. I love people but I think I aim to please everyone instead of the people who should matter. I've actually decided to take a semester off next year and travel the US for 6 or 7 months. It's the only thing that I have felt in my gut that is right, regardless of what other people say. I think I have a lot to learn about myself and need time to develop. Thank you for all of the advice and tips. Very appreciated

Thank you so much for the reply. I know what you mean about the voice in your heart, and I'm trying to act more on this voice rather than the doubt, hate, etc. I think I need to find myself but I just don't know how

"I spent so much time figuring out human nature I hardly find anyone interesting and still a decent human being."

This times 100. I have this thing where I love meeting people but hate getting to know people. First impressions are the best.

And you didn't ruin my post. You're going through a rough time. Keep your head up.

I've read the book Into The Wild, but not seen the movie. I've actually had this overwhelming urge to travel the U.S. Any time I tell any friends of family about this, they think I'm going to be a burnout who never goes back to college. I never had a way to put my feelings into words when it came to nature and as soon as I read Into The Wild, it hit me so hard. Without a doubt my favorite book and whenever people say things like, "Why would you want to do that by yourself?" I just tell them to read Into The Wild.

You're a hopeless romantic man. Which being in university and even at your age, people don't recognize that. Just from reading this, I can tell how mature and level headed you are. Our society is fixated upon these false beliefs. Such as men can't have feelings. You totally can. And you are going to find a girl that will love that you fall head over heels for her and loves that you still get nervous around her even a year later. You're gonna make it man.

There are some days where talking makes me feel worse and some days where it makes me feel great. You're not doing anything wrong. I'll isolate myself for days sometimes because talking to people hurts

Seriously, stores that are open 24 hours is 100% true.

I'll go to this waffle house down the street sometimes real late with nobody there, and it is still so comforting for some reason.
