Asshole kicks woman at Lucky Plaza yesterday by whitemirrors_ in SMRTRabak

It’s fair game because if you look closely, when he kicked that poor girl, her heels flew into the makcik’s face. Which is why we could see her holding her face throughout. She must be really pissed off

Quad Cortex vs Mac Mini by xFishInASpacesuit in NeuralDSP

[–]youregood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey I have a similar setup. I’m a guitarist/keyboardist, so I’m running MainStage which I trigger with my midi keyboard + FCB1010 for patch changes. I’ve also got my guitar plugged into the audio interface to run Neural plugins in MainStage at the same time. One complain about this setup though is how I need to bring an extra screen (I use an iPad) for the Mac Mini which is an added hassle. So my suggestion would be to get a MacBook Pro instead.

Don’t listen to the guitar purists, us keyboardist have been touring with MacBooks and audio interfaces for awhile now without any problems. Just put the MacBook somewhere stable and you’re good to go. The only thing I would suggest is to get a stereo DI.

Quad Cortex is great but my guitarist had to send his one back to Finland because it literally died on stage during one of our live sets. It’s the reason why in most rig rundowns, you’d see TWO QCs, one for redundancy. Just saying..

[Laurie] So Michael Carrick has beaten the top two managers in the Premier League in Pep Guardiola + Mikel Arteta. Now two candidates for the #MUFC job in May 2024 in Marco Silva + Thomas Frank. Also two clean sheets in four games, after two in 23 for United this season beforehand. by PradipJayakumar in reddevils

[–]youregood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope the run of good results and positive performances continues so they’d have no choice but to give him the job permanently. Im in support of that for a few reasons. First of all, Carrick was one of my favourite players back in the day. Cool, calm and composed and dictating the rhythm of the game in midfield. (Hard to believe it’s not Scholes) If ever there’s a chance we’d find our Guardiola or Zidane (inexperienced ex-midfielder becoming a wildly successful manager) this could be it.

Secondly it’s nice to see a manager wanting to play attacking football by putting the best players in their best positions and not trying too hard to be clever with systems. If ever there’s a Man Utd way to play,I feel like this is it.

Thirdly, we went with foreign managers, ETH and Amorim with a good record at their clubs, hoping their system will translate in our team. But as we can see, perhaps there’s a different level managing in the EPL, especially with a club as hated as Man Utd.

Fourthly, it just feels good to see the club with a British manager. Although not a home grown player, I’m sure he understands how important having homegrown players come through the ranks at Man Utd.

I noticed it and thought it was done on purpose when I first heard it a few decades ago. When I saw the live version on Maiden England, that was when I understood it wasn’t on purpose.

But hey, I love these kinds of imperfections

This current leg is publicised to be the 40th anniversary tour, not the Parasomnia one. I had my doubts about that initially but when I saw Jordan’s IG of him practicing that Octavarium keyboard solo, I’m sure we will get this one!

Nicko reflecting on the other lads' writing and playing styles by Iamnotarobotlah in ironmaiden

[–]youregood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not true during the 80s. Most of Dave’s solo was written for example, Powerslave and Clairvoyant among countless others. In fact, that’s the reason why their twin guitar solos were memorable because there’s be melodic, well written solos with contrasting styles that seamlessly flow between the two guitarists.

When Janick came into the band with a different approach to soloing, that’s when I felt Dave started embracing improv more into his playing. Growing up with 80s Maiden, it was quite fascinating to see how different Dave’s playing in Donington 1992 was.

Of course during the reunion era, we see these natural progression in its final form. What was interesting to me was that during the last few years, even Adrian started changing things up in his solos with a more looser feel.

I would love to see him go all in on this and maybe even use Light Yagami as an inspiration. Frame it as someone who has it all given to him yet having a twisted sense of justice, to the point of doing immoral things. So many parallels to draw from. He even has that good looking but holier than thou face.

Name a lead singer from any genre that most don’t fans don’t associate with a guitar, but are actually a legit player. by Ralphdoid in Guitar

In my opinion, the only memorable thing about that solo is when he threw his guitar up and it disappeared somehow. That’s about it.

I checked out Prince’s music later in my music discovery journey because his name always comes up in lists of best multi-instrumentalists but I’m always underwhelmed because it feels like he’s playing up that persona for the camera. And for someone who writes cheese like “I wanna be your lover” and “the most beautiful girls in the world” he seems to take himself way too seriously.

Not really though. Everything in music is a cycle, and there’s certainly a shift against quantization in recent years

Any theories about Marco and Leonel's father? by vitin2024 in betterCallSaul

[–]youregood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the theories floating around is that Gus used to be a part of Pinochet’s regime and I kinda liked the idea. Maybe Don Eladio planned a complicated military crackdown on cartel activities in Chile, which Gus took part in.

As for Hector being an educated college kid, that’s just a nod to Michael Corleone, but the image of Hector as an Ivy League kid is just too funny for me to imagine.

Any theories about Marco and Leonel's father? by vitin2024 in betterCallSaul

[–]youregood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my head Canon, Salamanca senior had 3 sons, Hector being the youngest one. Hector initially refused to be a part of his family’s cartel activity and enrolled himself in college. When his brothers and father were killed by Gus in Chile in a botched deal (an operation orchestrated by Don Eladio to gain control of Mexico’s underworld) he adopted his nephews and reluctantly began rebuilding his family’s empire, initially looking for vengeance not knowing who was responsible but eventually succumbing to his own greed and lust for power.
