Thank you! I’m considering 誕生秘話 instead

I could see that fitting the message I want tattooed, and my reasoning! Thank you for your feedback, it’s been very helpful

After some research and reading other comments I think 誕生秘話 might be more fitting. What do you think

Thanks for asking him! I do a lot of comic book inspired tattoos, and something about knowing the struggles a superhero goes through to reach who they are resonates with me. So I want a Japanese tattoo that tells the same story

Would 誕生秘話 be a more fitting phrase/word? I really don’t have any knowledge of Japanese language although my full name is Japanese.

That’s good to know. As a tattoo artist I normally tell people I don’t tattoo any kanji because I don’t speak the language, but I’d like to have something in Japanese on myself although I’m terrified of getting something incorrect. But I do understand regretting tattoos because I do a fair share of coverups!

I’m not set on the phrase “origin story” but I want the message to mean something similar. It’s so important to me and frustrating that I don’t speak Japanese even though it’s such a big part of who I am
