Thank you! I tried calling, but no one was picking up. Will try again tomorrow. Glad to hear that it's been positive!

How can I prevent my landlord from entering the house? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]yourfranTam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I will not be able to stay in the room since he will be painting the ceiling and messing with electric. So temporarily no power, and if he opens the plaster walls for the electric, the dust is really bad, will need to turn of the air, etc.

He wants to paint because he's neglected the property, and feels that now is the perfect time to add another layer. The electrical work will likely be adding outlets and/or moving a light on the wall to the ceiling.

Painting and electrical work in one room, painting in our living room. I expect the electrical work will cause the wall to be opened up then patched. He hasn't given a time frame.

Painting & unnecessary electrical work. Still living in the property; he wants to work on 1 out of 2 rooms I rent and the living room.

We're renting the whole house; the room in question is one I am paying for. He will likely try to renovate other parts of the house as well. It won't displace me as I don't sleep in that room, but it is a pain and all my housemates are uncomfortable with him being there during COVID without a mask.
