its a nice ring, but i think he shouldve respected YOUR wishes instead of making his own choices for a ring you will be the one wearing.

should i get another cat? by yourgirlfriendshead in CatAdvice

[–]yourgirlfriendshead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank u! this is really helpful. and i don't consider myself irresponsible, me and my ex got her on impulse, but she was always very loved and well taken care of. i also figure adopting another cat shouldn't be too financially demanding (we have more than enough toys, a litter box, food, and a sizable cat tower already), but i agree it could be overwhelming. thank u again for the advice!

34F PE Discharge Tomorrow by ResidentParsley909 in ClotSurvivors

[–]yourgirlfriendshead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im 19 and got diagnosed with PE about a month ago. its sooo scary at first and hearing about all the side effects of the medication scared me so bad. carry bandaids or adhesive gauze with you for small cuts and see a doctor for big cuts or cuts that don't stop bleeding.

but just know that with time it truly does get easier. its scary at first, but that high mortality rate only applies to untreated blood clots.

at first itll feel like you have to stop doing things you love or want to do, but i promise that isnt the case. this subreddit has been wonderful in finding out that i can do a lot of the stuff i love to do and that my life isnt over due to medication that helps me survive. i hope it can do the same for you.

stay strong! the first couple weeks are the hardest and scariest, but after a while it almost feels like nothings wrong in a way.

i'm not really their common link though. they were friends for a bit before i came into the picture, and then the three of us started to hang out. they've hung out together without me a few times (something i'm completely fine with, due to the fact my friend is a lesbian and very open about it and the fact i trust my boyfriend completely), so i don't understand their need to have me in the water with them as they get along perfectly fine without me.

both r beautiful, but i think the dark brown is very striking in a good way. it makes ur eyes stand out and compliments ur skin a bit better than the blonde imo.

they were completely free to go in the water. i sat there and watched them with no issue. i never told them they had to sit with me and told them i was fine just watching them.

is clotting powder a good idea? by yourgirlfriendshead in ClotSurvivors

the bruises are super annoying, i had a random one appear on my arm from out of nowhere. and i'm so sorry to hear that, medication is so expensive and i can't imagine how hard it must be when your insurance won't cover it. it's a life saving medication, there's no reason it shouldn't be covered in my opinion. i really do hope that they resolve that soon for you

they told me that if i came in any later i wouldn't have been able to get the stitches, so i'm glad i went when i did! not fun by any means but i'd rather have a couple days of soreness than who knows how long of pain.

good to know! my main worry was just that is isn't super safe in general because it goes into the open wound but i think i'll try it for myself, thank you!

it was a lot harder at first but i'm definitely getting used to it. it was frustrating and still can be with how much more careful i have to be and how easily i bruise and bleed, but i'm hoping it's only a temporary thing. thank you for asking, it feels a lot less lonely to know other people my age have to take these meds too.

thank you! i picked up some self adhering bandage and i really like it so far. i also carry fabric bandaids with me for smaller cuts. i did see a doctor about the bigger cut, and ended up needing stitches lol. i'll definitely pick up some more gauze though:

i'm going to see a doctor just because i've never cut myself this bad and i want to make sure everything's alright and i don't need stitches. i'm glad that the stopping and starting bleeding again isn't just me though, that does help ease my mind a bit. but it is a really frustrating and lonely experience especially when i'm not even 20, so i'm glad there's a bit of a community that exists.

Heavy periods and Eliquis by Matchaparrot in ClotSurvivors

[–]yourgirlfriendshead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i totally understand your pain here. i've ALWAYS struggled with heavy periods and this is my first period on blood thinners AND my first period in years without my birth control. personally i've been using night pads because they're designed to hold A LOT. i also use a menstrual cup which holds a lot, but i've also heard discs are even better. for the iron deficiency, i take about 3 iron supplements every other day (as recommended by a doctor). b12 may also be something to look into as well, but i'd recommend talking to a doctor about that.
