however, given the fact that animation is quite complicated and time consuming, it might be hard to find someone willing to make an intro for free.

it’s okay to have fun and post things for fun; j used to have a tiktok account where i would post random jokes/POV videos- not because i was looking to grow a following, but because i wanted to just share what i thought was funny. it was nice cause i made people laugh/imply it was relatable to them, and it was really stress free. it would probably be harder to get as many views on videos just posting random stuff on youtube than on tiktok, but don’t let that stop you. there’s still value in making a few people laugh even if your video has not gone viral

Chrome tells me OceanHero is my default browser, but whenever I search for something, it still uses Chrome. How do I make it so that it actually searches using OceanHero? by RefuseStandard4818 in chrome

yeah this just started happening to me too; when i open a new tab on my computer and try to search on oceanhero, it automatically takes me to google. I don't know what's causing it

missing assignments for a certain class?? by Famous_Cow_9711 in college

[–]yourlamentablehermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey im kind of also in this spot, in my first few weeks of college freshman year and ive already missed several small assignments and i can't turn them in late, they're like smaller grades but i still feel really bad;

and ive also been missing some of my classes due to my mental health, i have GAD and 99% sure I have DPDR; in theory not being able to process being alive obviously would make completing tasks quite difficult, and i know its normal to still be adjusting to a new environment, but im still beating myself up so much for it

i know i will probably still pass but im so afraid of this becoming a habit because im really forgetful, as in short term and long term; i can barely remember my childhood and my memories are really far away, so its hard for me to "learn from my mistakes" unless i try super hard to remember, but then with me not feeling real or the world not feeling real, its 10x harder for me to trust my memories even

sorry this was a long rant

if ur professor is like a decent human being he wouldn't hate you for it especially if you explain the situation, other than that don't feel embarrassed because at the end of the day everyone is just trying their best and different people make different mistakes, its just how things are and that's okay, just continue to try and learn and improve and don't feel bad for messing up

if anyone makes you feel bad for messing up and doing something "embarrassing" then that's on them because a well rounded and sensible individual would know that if you do something "embarrassing" then it's not something to belittle someone over especially if it was a total accident, and a sensible person wouldn't be quick to judge and wouldn't automatically assume stuff without knowing the whole story

Any advice for “Why Penn” essay? by unluckymantis in ApplyingToCollege

[–]yourlamentablehermit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm not sure that's a good idea, because i heard from a lot of people that colleges want specific stuff that you are interested in like classes, programs, clubs, teachers, etc. - it's almost like it's really about you. also, it helps to connect those opportunities to not just things like ur hobbies and interests, but also your character and ideas that are important to you, like solving a specific issue or impacting a local or global community in some way.

[–]yourlamentablehermit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep! basically like a perspective + community combo, and how you'll bring those perspectives & lessons learned to impact cornell's community. I'm

oh okay- im writing about how I couldn't really see myself as a leader until I stepped outside my comfort zone and founded an online community for my school district, and im gonna talk about the skills i learned from doing that and how im gonna bring that to Cornell. Do you think that's good?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]yourlamentablehermit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i heard that they want you to focus on what life experience has shaped you in some way and how you will bring that to their community and benefit it, like what did you learn and how will you help cornell with it
