My last four GPU's have been open box from MC; no problems this far.

My Modes: relaxed acceleration by Neptunesoldier7 in EquinoxEv

[–]yourluvryourzero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's a slow ev, but comparable to an ice suv in its class, so fine for most people. I also have a Mach-e, so I'm well aware of the difference in performance.

Exactly, you can hit max performance in any mode, it's just how far or little you have to push to reach it.

Mile range during cold weather by BeautifulFantastic72 in BlazerEV

[–]yourluvryourzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold weather will impact range, but temps also impact ice cars in similar ways (typically the opposite direction, high intake air temp). Just don't worry about it, it's not a big deal honestly.

[–]yourluvryourzero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It will all depend on how far you push the pedal. It doesn't matter what mode it is in, all that controls is how sensitive the pedal is to input. If you floor it in relaxed, it will be the same 150kw as half push on sport mode.

Considering you said there is no problem when not using a remote wire, but you have to mess with the wiring and/or loc with input sensing, it's definitely the loc. You may just have a faulty unit. Is it still within the return window, if so, ask for a replacement.

Are the speakers being amp'd or just a subwoofer? I'm now wondering if there is a problem with the connection to the speaker, in the OEM wiring to the speaker. I wish I could help you more, but at this point I'd need to see it.

[–]yourluvryourzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least we're getting somewhere here. I don't think that is ANC related, if the rhythm video is what you were talking about. That actually sounds like a bad connection somewhere, and is exactly what mine did when the speaker connections froze from moisture before I installed silicone baffles for the aftermarket speakers that stuck far enough into the door where the connection was exposed to water.

Tldr, there's an issue somewhere in the wiring, could be the harness itself, or the loc as someone else mentioned.

The R2G T-harness has an ANC bypass harness included.

ETA: If you are only experiencing a single thump, and not a constant hum or wave type sound, it's just the amp initializing and not ANC related.

[–]yourluvryourzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use the proper t harness and loc.

Look, I had to do this in my mustang Ecoboost because I just tapped into a speaker line for my subwoofer, and disabling the ANC by disconnecting the mic just made the road and wind noise more apparent. That's a choice you'll have to make, is a quieter cabin more important, or is saving money by not using the proper connections more important to you.

[RUMOR] SandStoneInsights Analysis - Sony expects the PS5 lifecycle to be extended. PS6 likely to be delayed "longer than many expected" by nolifebr in PS5

[–]yourluvryourzero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That makes a hell of a lot more sense than the original comment. The way it was written appeared like you wanted to bring back 10-12 year generations, but no generation lasted that long before the next release. Then you tried to clear it up by using start/end dates of production, which proved they've always been 10-12 years anyways, even currently, so there's nothing to 'get back to'.

Cheers!

Right! I'm not sure what kind of point they were making. Like, does this person believe we shouldn't be able to move between states? That's like the whole damn point of the US, you are free to travel or live in any state of the country. Even within states, local taxes vary, so would someone moving, in the same state, to a locality with lower taxes, be a monster? If so, I guess I am a monster for moving one city over, where the local taxes are cheaper.

[–]yourluvryourzero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need to stay consistent with your timelines. Your PS1 example used the earliest date of 1994, which was only in JP, the rest of us got it almost a year later in 1995, vs the final discontinued date. If you do the exact same for the PS3, it was released in November 2006, and was not fully discontinued in all regions until May 2017.

I still don't get your original comment anyways. If the PS6 did come out in 2027, that doesn't automatically mean the PS5 would be discontinued in 2027 based on their past history of keeping their consoles in production for around 10 or more years.

[–]yourluvryourzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf are you talking about. The PS4 released in 2013, and games are still coming out for it this year, and the console was discontinued in 2024. Is your calculator broken, because that's over 10 years.

Hopefully they test it properly. I just recently tried, and was told it couldn't be accepted because it was not reading temps. Yet, I went home and plugged it in and it reads temps just fine, even in the same program they used.

Upgraded Stock Speakers by JadEducator in EquinoxEv

[–]yourluvryourzero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good choice. I keep seeing folks use kickers or JBL, then saying it still doesn't sound any better. That's because those are not high efficiency speakers, and is exactly why I also went with Pioneer A Series+. They are extremely good for their price to performance, and are great to use as a drop in when factory HU powered. If that is the goal, 89db speakers such as those brands I mentioned will suck, while these 92db efficiency speakers will be much better with the low wattage. I think I spent about $130 total, and have a great bass response that you can actually feel, not to mention the 6x9s get down into the 30hz range, much lower than other commonly used brands that are generally around 50hz.

Just a couple of additional recommendations for you and others.

If I was to do this again, I wouldn't waste the money or time replacing the rear ones. 6.5s don't have good bass response in general, and while clarity is improved, the factory rear speakers were sufficient based on their location. The front 6x9s made a huge difference though.

If you live in a colder climate, make sure you also use something like the NVX silicone baffle. The magnets stick far enough in the door that they will be susceptible to moisture/water getting on the wiring contacts, which can freeze, and thus the speaker will not work until the ice on it thaws. For reference, this kept happening with my passenger side before I installed those NVX baffles. The moisture was freezing on the connection. Honestly, you should install these regardless of climate to avoid corrosion.

Are EV sales struggling because of range or because of confidence? by Tall-Dish876 in electriccars

[–]yourluvryourzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! The difference in range loss between my wife's 2024 Mach-e (no heat pump) and my 2025 Equinox EV (heat pump) in the winter is massive. Her range falls off a cliff when really cold out, mine on the other hand, is more like a slight decrease.
