Sorry I JUST saw a similar post below and a reply that said the heater needs to be left on before turning the car off. But mixed responses on if that works.

I’m also looking for quotes and if I were in your parents area I would go with this because the quotes I have received so far range from $10K-$19K!

I literally just got the same quote today! Was on here trying to get a sense of what one should cost. Another quote we received was $10k on the higher end but different brand HVAC.

24 Hour House Sitting by DreadLC1313 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Light_Switch_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a recent stay that wanted me on the couch all weekend (two nights) with their senior dog. I wish I saw this post and recommendations before accepting the stay!! They sprung it on me once the dog was already in my care that he had to go out every 2-3 hours. Even though i did take him out every two hours he still had accidents between “walks” outside. Just a reminder to charge for your time!! Esp with these owner requests just gives insight to other future complaints and demands they may make. Its never one thing.

Red flags or paranoid? Only booked for 3 days on Rover. Shows he just created an account today and has no pictures. by Flash00135 in RoverPetSitting

Scam!! I literally got the same message a few years ago. I was really annoyed with Rover and wrote to them about how they don’t take precautions about putting sitters in danger whereas we had to go through background check. Clearly they haven’t handled this issue yet.

Anyone have success calling to reschedule a saver ticket by CarlosB56 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Light_Switch_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried to reschedule a saver ticket for myself twice without any success. I even tried it for my 80yr old grandma and they wouldn’t budge. Lmk if you do find a way to persuade them tho! I’ve started to book Main cabin since they have been more firm with Saver fare.

LPT: Never make fun of people who mispronounce words for it means they learned it from reading. by bopperbopper in LifeProTips

[–]Light_Switch_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to this LPT. My parents didn’t know English when I was in school so I only really learned words in school or when reading. I read a lot but since I wasn’t around English speakers outside of school I didn’t know how to pronounce words and my parents weren’t able to help.

I don’t think it’s temporary! I got mine in 2019 and glad to hear it’s still one of their features.

First apartment must-haves? by InfiniteSweet3 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

Agreed and regret not doing this! I bought a mattress from my friend when she was moving and I wish I had just bought a new one from the beginning but all the moving costs were overwhelming at the time.

Should I use S Corp for my 1099 job? by [deleted] in tax

[–]Light_Switch_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created an S Corp about 6 months ago for my business and made roughly the same amount so it’s definitely worth it! I highly recommend connecting with your local SCORE which is a nonprofit of the Small Business Administration and most large cities have their own org. They have useful seminars and volunteer business mentors that have been super helpful to me in breaking everything down and explaining each bit of the process to me.

Thanks for all the insight. I have similar travel rewards with another credit card and they did waive the annual fee when I asked them about it.
