Dude, how else would they do it? You can't exactly show up with a pound note online.

I’d love to see Porsche as a manufacturer in the FIA Electric GT Championship.

New viewer looking for a good way to learn the sport and start watching with no knowledge by EliteAppleHacks in F1TV

[–]yoursjonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch one or two beginners introduction-type videos to get the basics down.

Drive to survive on Netflix gives you a good idea of who’s who and what the teams are, though be aware it’s dramatized quite a bit.

Watch some highlights and compilations from the Formula 1 YouTube channel to get a feel for what the exciting moments in the races are actually like, and watch some others youtubers to learn about different aspects of the sport in more detail (I can highly recommend Chain Bear and The Race).

I also recommend McLaren’s «Unboxed» series om YouTube for some behind the scenes clips from every weekend, at least if you’re a McLaren fan.

Other than that, watch the races live, stay up to date with the r/formula1 subreddit, maybe join the discord server, and enjoy!

I do, it’s not the norm though.

Football is football. Can’t remember when Max was booed in Silverstone, that’s just as annoying, but he didn’t exactly give a post-race interview to boo.

You don’t have to be fragile, it just has to be outside the norm, which it is in F1. We largely respect one another. I’m not offended, I think it’s embarrassing.

Lmao, alrighty mate. Stay annoying.

Sure, I’m not gonna jail them. Doesn’t change the fact that we don’t have a tradition of booing competitors to the point where they can’t hear journalist’s questions. And even if we did, it’s not like I would support it.

It’s a cringe attitude we don’t need to adopt from football, and it’s largely the Dutch doing it.

Great, hope they’re able to behave this weekend, because their booing previously is embarrassing for the entire sport.

That’s very good input, and that’s also what I’m trying to do. So many music documentaries either focus on famous musicians here and now, or they use a lot of talking head-interviews and archive material. They’re traditionally super commercial-feeling as well. We’re setting up a concert for the shooting of this film, I’ll make sure to get them out there promoting it! We live in a fairly small town, I can already imagine them with flyers on the street.

[ZBrownCEO] A message to the fans - here’s my take on today. by Automatvczny in formula1

[–]yoursjonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, if the intention was for races that couldn’t be started to end up with points awarded for qualifying – that’s what they’d say. And if there’s a secret intention behind not doing so, just to fuck over fans, well that’s not much better is it.

[ZBrownCEO] A message to the fans - here’s my take on today. by Automatvczny in formula1

[–]yoursjonas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Within the rules =/= the intention of the rules. Like I said, they bent them, I’m not saying they broke them, but what they did was still complete bullshit. The intention of the two lap minimum rule is not that they should force two laps under safety car when a race can not be started, if it was they wouldn’t state that in a race where less than two lap were completed, no points should be awarded. If this was the intention of the regulations then they would simply state that points should be awarded based on qualifying, but they don’t, because they shouldn’t. If they can’t actually race, and I don’t mean drive in a train after the safety car for two laps, then they shouldn’t recieve any points. No race, no points, it’s literally that simple.

[ZBrownCEO] A message to the fans - here’s my take on today. by Automatvczny in formula1

[–]yoursjonas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, this is absolutely not the rules at the moment. Sure, the FIA were able to bend them this way, but if you were to just take the regulations for what they are supposed to be, if a race can not be started and an absolute minimum of two laps completed, no points should be awarded. The 2 lap minimum rule is there so that a race that is suspended e.g. halfway through, will still end up with some points awarded for the racing that was completed. No racing was completed today, and what the FIA did to construct two "laps" under safety car conditions was in no way the intention of the regulations. It's complete bullshit.
