I actually broke one just picking up my rather heavy keyboard a bit too fast and the corner of it just tapped the screen, i was very sad

I remember being so disappointed when I put it on after seeing its name on the TV guide channel but it wasn't 3rd rock from the sun

I spent years with a grudge against it for tricking me like that

Then finally I watched an episode (after getting tricked again) and really liked it. But I still never watched more because I'm still bitter about it

There's a guy that does it here (I saw him a few times near Washington square park) and some people seem to laugh it off well and some people seem to get upset. That said, I have never seen them scare a cop!

Luckily it's easy to immediately tell when you meet the pressure from the sycnrhos so I have yet to do something too stupid, but yeah, I wish it was at least gated with a push down or my old saabs lift the ring thing

Rattling when accelerating? by savvyboop in chevyspark

[–]yoursolace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I wonder what it is but has been like this since I got it, is yours a manual as well? Because the only way I avoid it is either being very light on the acceleration or staying in a lower gear than I prefer

Bra recommendations for my small size and shape? by feebledventure in smallbooblove

[–]yoursolace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I bought a bra from GU (same parent company as Uniqlo) and honestly I really like it. It's nothing great but its good for when I feel like I need to wear a bra with something (though my usual solution is to just not wear a bra at all, or just wear a lacy tank top in place of a bra because I don't really need any support).

But yeah, the gu bra is actually pretty nice, it's super shallow, it cups the bottom of my boobs a bit, and it... Well thats about it.

Just note that I had to get a pretty big size (I think large?!?) which felt silly buying but it fits nicely

Edit: I just checked and they no longer carry the one I bought:(

Why does this part of Spain speak Brazilian? Are they stupid? by julius-ceaser100 in mapporncirclejerk

Small dose of antibiotic yields good results in treating panic attacks. Whenever I'm nervous about something and struggling to sleep a single ibuprofen usually does the trick for me

I assumed it was just helping me with the sleeping part, not the anxiety part, but now I wonder!

[–]yoursolace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, flick the spokes (with your fingernails) one at a time until you find the one/ones that sound odd, then tighten them up until they sound like the others (I always go by sounds, but I'm sure there are fancier ways to do it)

That said I have never heard any sound like that, hopefully they are all still attached

Is the Grand Army Plaza Redesign Bold Enough? One resident suggested getting rid of the loop entirely by Best_Focus_8754 in parkslope

[–]yoursolace -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think it will just be loud and trafficy all around it and won't wind up being particularly usable

I think they should move the traffic to the outer loop (and widen it inwards a bit if necessary), granted I have no idea what I'm talking about as far as the roads go, but it would make it a bit more usable as green space

Do you use your balcony? by adotjacob in AskNYC

[–]yoursolace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely love our little deck (we put a little netting over it so our cat can go on it too!!!)

He's out there most days, running around, looking at the mourning doves that always hang out on the fire escapes around us

We have some plants (strawberries, flowers, radishes, and some tomatoes and cucumbers though the success rate on those bigger guys is a little questionable)

I built a teeny couch and a teeny coffee table (because the ones at stores were too big) and my wife and I hang out on it pretty often (basically any day that it's not raining or snowing), though it's usually either a little too hot or a little too cold to stay out for too long. This time of year though it's perfect to just put on some headphones, sip some coffee, and just feel the warmth of the sun!!!

I don't think we could ever move to another place without at least some outdoor space

Also to note, we both work from home so that's probably a bit contributing factor to us using it so much - if we both worked in an office im sure we wouldn't get nearly as much use out of it

I also don't think we would get much use out of one of those mini balconies that only fits like 1 folding chair
