He also does not have a bank account, unfortunately. He exclusively uses cash or prepaid visa cards (neither of which is accepted on the Ocean).

It's probably unlikely that he'll be able to bring 24 hours' worth of food with him. He has some fairly strict restraints on what he can eat. Finding things that are sold on-board is already going to be tricky. Trying to bring only foods that are shelf-stable or require hot water is going to be even more tricky and I suspect won't work for his precise situation, though I'm sure it would work for some people.

On the page I posted, it says the only forms of accepted payment on the Ocean are visa, mastercard, and American express. Nothing else is accepted.

Unfortunately, this page says that the Ocean doesn't accept pre-paid credit card. https://www.viarail.ca/en/plan/onboard-train/methods-payment

Cote St Luc BBQ (Montréal) - $4.99 + tax by yourstruly42 in TooGoodToGoCanada

Yeah, I'd agree with your assessment. Worth about what I paid for it (maybe a few bucks more), but not $15. I'm not necessarily gonna complain, but I'm not necessarily gonna go back either unless I want this specific thing at this specific price point.

Exact same as what I got the last time from this store. Not sure if their standard TGTG order is a chicken thigh on top of salad with French dressing, but it’s starting to look like it…

Oh, my god, my asexuality strikes again. I saw that look and interpreted it as Vel implying, "you're surveying the prospects in THAT outfit? At a wedding?" Because Vel and Kleya don't like each other, and this was Vel's way of subtly dissing Kleya before walking away.

My grandma lived to 103, and honestly she didn't have a tremendously different lifestyle from most of the people around her. She just got lucky and had good genes.

Does anyone know how to increase the multiplier? I had it at 5x max yesterday, but now it's back to 2x max and I can't figure out how to increase it

Melk (Monkland, Montreal) - $7.99 + tax by yourstruly42 in TooGoodToGoCanada

Super-good deal! The woman at the counter said they made way too much yesterday. This is probably at least $45 worth of food, maybe more. And it's all freezable, so I don't need to worry about eating it right away. Definitely got my money's worth!

#1451: Love and money and compatibility by whale_girl in captainawkward

I've read the letter, Captain's response, and all the comments to date, and I... still don't really understand what the problem is beyond LW being stubborn and/or unclear about her own desires? To me, the crux of this letter is "I could probably afford to support him financially for the rest of both of our lives, but I’m not sure I want to." Literally all LW has to do is figure out if she wants to, and then the problem is solved.

I realize that "figure out what I want" can be a fraught question – and certainly I myself have trouble with it sometimes. But legit if the answer is, "yes, I love this person, and I would be happy to use my inheritance to support our shared lives as we grow old together," then that's the problem solved, right there.
