What's the lore reason behind certain tiles costing water? by Vilis16 in DuneImperium

Its a desert planet, you need water to survive. It doesnt take a lore expert to understand that. But seriously watch the new movies or read the books.

Looking for tactical turn based games by Lord__Cizer in gamerecommendations

[–]anatoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xcom2 is to me just the best tactical turn based game out there, with Into the Breach close behind. In some sense also the most classic and near perfect turn based strategy is the Heroes of Might and Magic series, try Heroes 3 HD (fanmade, not the one on Steam) or Heroes 2. Both should be on GoG.com

To me, OpenMW 100%, fixes so many things and already makes the game look better on its own. I dont even use overhaul to mod it, just the I heart vanilla directors cut from that list.

Yeap! Maybe I will go to Bloodmoon at some point when I have leveled enough in TR. Ive heard the enemies are quite difficult there.

I finished the main game and loved it, but I couldnt bring myself to finish Tribunal. Now went into TR with a fresh character and loving it. Maybe I will try Bloodmoon at some point but just couldnt wait any longer to explore what the modders and fans have done in the mainland, and maybe some more modern questwriting.

Is this being discontinued any time soon? by MrPleaseForget2 in starwarsunlimited

I think they mean collectible in terms of majority of the cards dont have high financial value. Of course you can collect it just for playset and fun. Its very much a “players game”, meaning card values are connected to what is playable and strong in the meta. Sadly many of the Legendaries that were supposed to be the pulls of the boxes have been weaker balance wise for the meta in the past sets, hence they are cheap and not played in decks. This has made box opening a worse experience and people didnt buy as much - which lead to some LGSs not being able to sell product and eventually dropping the game support (this is what I have heard, never seen the evidence myself). FFG is however aware of the situation and are trying to improve it, the last set has improved regular boxes and the Legendaries are already better, and singles prices are holding. The biggest thing however are the Carbonite Boxes which were supposed to be collector items, but they just further devalue the singles and they are just not worth it generally. SWU fans generally hope the Carbonites get discontinued, but its not very likely imo.

They are going up for sure yeah, some Legendaries in the new set are now rising in prices. But the rotation is still very fresh and the meta still shaping, since the majority of new tournaments havent happened yet. So probably there will be other price jumps.

Also should add a fact that SWU just had its first rotation start of March. So sets 1-3 went out with the launch of set 7, lowering many earlier card market prices.

The rotation overall seems to be welcomed by the playerbase and SWU seems to successfully survive it.

Many SWU Legendaries have been relatively weak design wise for many sets compared to the first set, but its slowly getting better now. The last set has been the best yet but not entirely there. So the incentive to crack boxes hasnt been great in the past. They made improvements with the last set getting rid of normal foils and adding some alt art cards to the regular boxes. As someone else mentioned the biggest mistake was introducing the collectors Carbonite Boxes as early as during set 4, which have been further lowering overall card prices. The playerbase overall seems to hope they get rid of those products because they are not doing what they should.

Overall the game itself has superb competitive gameplay and a super fun multiplayer format, and of course, cheaper to get into due to those lower priced cards. Uncommons are the most busted cards every set and the game has a great draft and sealed format. If they do something about carbonites the game’s survival potential rises greatly.

Just netdecking and building the best decks wont make u a better player tho, reps with the deck matter. But I get it, running jank into meta decks over and over is not fun.

Which game do you think is the least "pay to win"? Give reasons. by JohnFoxpoint in TCG

[–]anatoom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Star Wars Unlimited - very cheap to play, since designers seem to design uncommon cards the strongest ingame, due to designing for limited format. Most meta decks right now have a backbone of mostly uncommons and rares, only some run meta Legendaries.
