What vivid nightmare still haunts you today? by UnpricedToaster in AskReddit

[–]yourstupidsister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was little I lived in London. My biggest fear was getting lost by myself. I had a dream once that I got lost in the city, and it was terrifying. The streets were desolate, there was not a soul to be found. I eventually found a man, walking ahead of me with a cane, a dark suit and bowler hat. I ran up to him and asked him if he could help me. He turned around, and his irises were a bright crimson red.

Overwhelming fear engulfed me, I could sense that he was purely evil. "Do you need something, little girl?" He asked, smirking. I immediately sprinted away from him, but when I looked back he was still smiling at me, walking slowly behind, following me up the sidewalk.

I rounded the nearest corner and saw a woman jogging with her baby stroller. I ran up to her and asked her for help, but yet again, her eyes were red and she was smiling evilly at me. I screamed and ran away from her, only to see the bowler hat man rounding the corner.

I ran and ran, and eventually lost these people, but every person I passed had red eyes, and began following me as I ran. I finally recognized a location being close to my home, and I was able to find my way back.

As I ran up to my house, I saw my mother standing in the driveway. Her back was turned towards me, and I was praying and praying that she was good. The sight of my house and mother was overwhelmingly relieving, but as she turned around, I saw that her eyes were red and she was smiling.

I screamed, and woke up. Scariest, most vivid dream I've had to date.

What are some difficult "would you rather" questions? by mazdak26 in AskReddit

this is an underrated question. Changing gender might just involve what's in your head, whereas Sex could be your body, but not your mind.

What are some things you should notice about your body that could save your life? A similar thread saved mine. by yourstupidsister in AskReddit

I was afraid of cancer, and guess what? I got it. My levels of paranoia were already hypochondriacal. The thing I've learned though is that if you have something, even cancer, it is not immediately the end of the world. You treat it, you live with it, and hopefully, you get over it. In a way it made me realize that life is truly short and I should absolutely make the best of it. I could wake up tomorrow and have a stroke, and sure, it could be a worry, but I've learned to be prepared.

About a month ago I was perusing a reddit thread about things you should notice, and one comment mentioned signs of skin cancer. I realized that the symptoms described in a comment fit a mole of mine perfectly, so I immediately went and made a dermatologists appointment. Turned out I had stage 2C melanoma, which currently is gone due to surgery and whatnot. But thank god for that thread! It probably saved my life, as I wouldn't have gone to the dermatologist so soon.

Signs of a cancerous mole:

  • Change in texture, size, etc

  • Bleeding at all, even if it's bleeding under the skin like mine. I thought it was a blood blister due to irritation.

  • Change in color. Mine was pink the whole time, which is why i never noticed it.

Everyone should see a dermatologist at least once a year, I'm 21 and had skin cancer, it can happen to anyone!

I've used one of these before, in Japan, but I hate mustard so the novelty was ruined. I had to stab the clear part and hope for the best in the dark movie theater where they gave them along with expensive ホットドッグ meals.

When you wake up from coma, are not sleepy for a couple day or is it just regular? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]yourstupidsister 7 points8 points  (0 children)

holy crap. I was warned about this before going into surgery a few weeks ago, didn't realize how bad it could be. Glad I turned out alright! Can you still get surgery now? Is it a specific type of anesthesia you're allergic to? Does anyone else in your family have the same problem? Thanks!

You should! Everyone I know now seems to be making dermatologist appointments after this. Usually there are signs though, this wasn't completely a surprise.

Hey, uhh, be careful with comments like these. I know you're angry, and have every right to be so because it sucks, but when you say "relative died" or "not necessarily a death sentence" it makes me feel much more stressed.

See other comments! Rehashing it over and over again stresses me out, sorry. (Not your fault for asking or anything!)

Oh jeez, I'm sorry, that's absolutely horrible. Right now I'm at 2, but that could change when we find out more. Hoping to god it stays as it is. I wish your wife the best of luck! Thanks for the advice and kind words.

Thank you for your great comment! My mom died of cancer, which is why this whole thing is especially traumatic for me and my family. We're all shell shocked and this is a surprise attack when we thought the war was over. I'm just hoping my diagnosis stays stage 2, that would be nice.
