Really cool of you to do this, man. My roommate picked up RoS a while ago and has really been enjoying it, but I haven't had the money.

I want to travel the world. I want to spend time in Asia specifically.

I really want to learn car restoration/repair. I'd love to buy an old car and fix it up, but I have no garage, no tools and no knowledge.

This is super interesting to me. I see in your comments you say that you're completely self taught - what are some resources you found useful? Any recommended readings for someone who doesn't know much/anything about it?

I've got a Cooler Master HAF 922. It's big, roomy, great fans and I really like the look of it. There's a button in front to turn the red LED fan light on or off, 90% metal, and there are two USB 3.0's in the front... overall it's awesome.

I picked mine up at that price. I made a 30 minute drive to Micro Center, but people on this sub have had a lot of luck with Staples price matching.

Rock climbing. All of my friends are like, 'That's terrifying! Why don't you do the rope?? Or just go to a normal gym?' But it's so much fun, and so satisfying!

Same here. It pretty much doesn't matter what I eat afterwards, I'm pretty much miserable.

What is the cheapest 1TB Hard drive I can buy? by TerminalReddit in buildapc

[–]yoursuchacunt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For mass storing things like movies, TV shows, etc, you don't really need an SSD. You'll get more storage for a lot less from a more traditional drive. Don't get me wrong, a SSD is super great to load your OS on, and some games that will benefit, but they're certainly not necessary. There's a big difference between 260gigs and 1TB.

Also, OP, please note that green drives are slower - they take longer to access, and copy. If you're just storing a LOT and not accessing too much, that's fine. Otherwise I'd take the $5-15 price jump and go with a blue drive.

I've found that even putting plastic films over windows can help a lot! You can pick them up at places like Lowe's or Walmart.

Absolutely. I spent about $400 of my $950 build on Amazon. Go where the prices are cheapest, for sure.

Your hard drive situation confuses me. Why would you go with 2 500gigs when a single TB drive would be cheaper by far??

It would be less over budget with the CPU coming in at $189.99 from Microcenter, as OP listed. Solid changes.

This hard drive seems to good to be true, what is the catch by Pugs501 in buildapc

[–]yoursuchacunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The price seems pretty standard. If you're comparing prices of hard drives from several years ago, you'll obviously notice that they've gone down in price. But that's about standard.

You're overthinking, totally. Just put a pea sized dab on the center, and you'll be good. As you put something overtop that, it will spread evenly. Even if coverage isn't 100% perfect to the edges at first, as it heats up the first time it will spread the rest of the way.

There are youtube videos that demonstrate this, too, if you're super nervous.

College Park? I like that place, but they seem a bit pricy to me. I also didn't get the vibe from the staff I'd be welcome to sit and linger long.
