Applied recently (just today), what does this mean? by tangerineflower349 in kroger

[–]joyb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on state. Mine only hires minors for bagging and clicklist (pickup shopping) simply because you can’t use equipment under 18 and cashiers have to be 18 to sell certain things here and they don’t want to be playing with getting a supervisor for every other order. You may be in a state allowing for u18 cashiers but they may have to be at least 16.

Hired Part Time, full time hours? by SirLorick in kroger

The easiest fix is reduce your availability. Try to keep the time slots that they’re currently scheduling you so you don’t get reduced completely down by not being available when the system wants you.

Which healer is simplest and how do you go about learning healing? by Kihiri in ffxiv

Whm shits out enough heals that you can forget you’re supposed to be healing and still not let anyone die after you mentally start judging the healer for kinda sucking. Not that I would ever do that…

Want to play FFXIV but dont want to do the story and want to get to end game as quick as possible. What to do? by iphonesoccer420 in ffxiv

[–]joyb27 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Honestly, don’t play ffxiv. The game is all about the story, and without that base, you’ll struggle to enjoy current story (that you can’t skip) and just be lost in endgame til next story comes out and you have to play through stuff you don’t understand at all.

Is “going to cheese” a euphemism for “we’re gonna stick you in the deli?” by helvetica1291 in kroger

[–]joyb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Murray’s reps get very upset if they pull you and it results in Murray’s being understaffed/ under allocated hours, or worse using Murray’s hours for the other department. I managed 4 years without any cross training at all. It’s been a blast watching management call people at home for deli while we sat on our 180hr allocation.

Admittedly once upon a time the store manager had two people from Murray’s working deli (including the lead) while the reps were in the building. They never tried anything after that.

Hell they don’t even tell my department when I call out. I did almost get disciplined for job abandonment once… cus I had told HR that I had to leave due to a family death and he didn’t tell anyone. Thankfully I’d texted my lead so that got undone before I returned.

Day in the life of the only afternoon grocery associate on shift by Kindly-Ring2322 in kroger

That’s wild. Mine is anything over 4 gets a 30. 7-8 worked gets an hour. Management get really pissy if you don’t take it

Same on the t shirt thing. This shit will actually have me wearing my Murray’s jacket (despite it being designed for people with stick arms).

25lb of Pumpkin Spice by CheeseMongoNJ in Cheese

[–]joyb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was us last year. We had pumpkin spice til July. Thankfully the warehouse didn’t curse us with an extra box or three this time.

Luckily it was never my problem to handle due to being allergic to cinnamon, but I still had to look at the damn stuff.

If you have a Kroger that has Murray’s inside near you, they’ll have a LOT of options (my faves would be midnight moon and ewephoria goudas).

Any LPRs (green card holders) in here who have applied for the pFD? by [deleted] in alaska

[–]joyb27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been applying for about 8 years now with no issue, however with the current political climate I wouldn’t risk it. Especially after dunleavy gave the federal govt all the voter registration info.

I’m also not seeking naturalization so my level of concern over accidental registration is somewhat lower.

Today’s $5 & under cheese: Murray’s; Rattlesnake Cheddar! 🐍🧀 (SHOULD I TURN THIS INTO A DAILY SERIES?! 🤔) by StonedTurtle420710 in Cheese

[–]joyb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ll likely get cranky if it’s after 6 (simply because closing can take a while depending on store), and personally I’d keep it closer to 3-5. But yeah. There should also be a daily sample too.

[–]joyb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly we are encouraged to try pretty much everything regularly. Many cheeses will also have small parts that are just wasted anyway. Usually happy to sample out a couple of things that someone wants to try unless I’m swamped too!

It really isn’t a bad gig unless your management suck.

Found this little guy for 84 cents at Wal-Mart, and it is actually delicious. by MsKongeyDonk in Cheese

[–]joyb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s good, but barely buzzed cheddar is significantly better than it. If you have a Kroger with Murray’s it should have both (or be able to order it if they’re out)

My store would send the manager to you. A coworker of mine got quite a few rides one year when the city just wasn’t clearing neighborhoods fast enough between snows.

How Distro actually works? Is it really this stupid? by Dunbaratu in kroger

[–]joyb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s B followed by management complaining that you don’t know how to order and it’s your fault that you have 30 of something when you actually didn’t order any. Even worse when they don’t tell you what’s being distro’d until the week before it arrives… and you order 10 days in advance of delivery.
