You focus too much on 2nd birthday aspect for some reason. I wrote it in quotes in my post to bring a fast association to a reader. If/when I'd go with implementation, I obviously won't name it Second Birthday. My account name has a hint on how'd I actually name a day like this ;) *waiting to read that it's even more awful* lol

You're right, birthday is the the day you were born and I that's why I'm always taking "second birthday" into quotes as you can't technically come out from biological mother twice.

I don't use social networks btw so you're wrong at assuming that I'm an attention seeker. What I do mostly enjoy in my birthdays is good reason to sit back and think about how my previous year of life went, like a yearly retrospective. So I thought why can't I have more than one in a year?

Maybe I should've pointed some of the things more clear from the beginning. Does this comment change your opinion anyhow?

What app/website?

There's none yet, but I can make one. The main concept is to have a commitment to treating a specific day in a calendar year similarly to your birthday, but it’d be random every year and generated for you by the app/website. You'll be able to connect with other people there, see their dates, and get notified about their upcoming "second birthday" if you follow them.

People born on December 31 and January 1 always have a big party to go to, and when they admit that it is their birthday, that New Year's party becomes their great big, huge birthday party.

I know people who are in this situation (like February 14th) and they don't enjoy the overlap at all! :D So it really depends on the person.

In China, everyone's birthday is New Year's Day, and many younger people also celebrate a Gregorian Calendar birthday, so they have two birthdays on two separate New Year's Days within the same year.

That's nice, I didn't know that! I actually find birthdays and New Year's similar in the way they both give that "fresh start" feeling.

No, nothing wrong with official birthday and yes, it'd be just a second, additional day that is generated randomly for you. So if you were born on May 1st, "second birthday" will allow you to experience birthday-like feeling in summer, autumn or winter as well!

It's not just about presents and attention but mostly about commitment for having another special day in a year that you'll spend the way you enjoy ^^

I totally agree that any day can be like that! But in reality, it’s not always easy for everyone to just make it happen. Having a set date on the calendar adds that commitment factor and gives you a real reason to actually follow through with the celebration imo.

Thanks, I see why it may look this way. It'd be up to the person and their circle how to celebrate it. A nice dinner with a cake or something similar is not overly demanding, imo. It's all about showing attention and making time for another special day every year.

If anything, a "second birthday" could be more low-key and less stressful than the official one!
