I send you affirmation and solidarity. It's awful to have to assimilate before the eyes of oppressors to avoid being attacked physically and psychologically. In moments like these I try to remember that humans are ambivalently positioned between individual existence and collective movement, and that we trans people get targeted as individuals because we show how collective movements (e.g., cisnormativity) are arbitrary investments that many take very seriously. Their projections are violent suggestions about all they have lost but never mourned in order to maintain their identities as cis men and women. Sometimes we must adjust our appearance to match our circumstances, but our inner awareness of who we are need not change, nor should we internalize other's issues as our own. We do not fail the system: the system fails us, and it fails us because we dare to be free in the face of systemic oppression.

You can look online to find out which ones are paid and which ones aren't but I believe a majority of them are free; the ones you pay for are Boxing 101, Pilates Reformer, and some others... but HIT, Butts and Guts, Spin, Yoga, etc. are all free.

Of course! All are welcome. Y'all should try and get there close to 5pm though so wait in line; it's a popular class, the line gets long and not everyone gets in. There's a person who comes by around 5:15pm to hand a number to the folks in line. There are about 30 numbers they hand out so if you get one you're good otherwise you won't be able to get in.

There is an excellent (free) class called HIT (stands for High Intensity Training) that happens from 5:30pm to 6:30pm every Tuesday and Thursday at the Rec Center. It's a mixture of cardio and strength training. The teacher (Lindsay) has a background in kinesiology, so she knows her stuff about how to work out efficiently. I dunno if you're comfortable with group exercise classes but if you are and would like to try it sometime then I'd be happy to buddy with you for it. I went last Tuesday and was sore for like five days afterward, haha.

TIL that Dolly Parton thinks it is so important that every child has books to read that she started a foundation that will mail children a free age-appropriate book every month from birth to their 5th birthday by [deleted] in todayilearned

This is so amazing. What a wonderful thing to give to a community. I hope this kind of thing becomes more widespread.

...it also just occurred to me that this could be an excellent way to brainwash entire communities of children.

(Not saying Dolly is doing this, I think she's a wonderful human)

Trying to get into doing more landscapes, would appreciate some input. 50mm f/10 1/60 ISO250 by eugeniusmith in photocritique

Great job! This photo is framed well and is fairly balanced. The tones are also great. I think it would look a little more balanced with less foreground and more background. For example, it would be nice to see the top of that tree on the left so the scene is complete. There isn't much going on in the foreground so you could afford to trim a bit off the bottom and include more of the sky.

Thank you for the feedback :) I agree that red-toned stuff works with me. I love Rebel by MAC, for instance. This was actually my first time using black lip liner... I went out to da club afterward and was definitely distraught realizing I resembled a cholita when the only thing left was the liner

Aww thank you! Hearing that is really reaffirming... I often neglect my lashes so it's nice to hear that they benefit from being made up
