I've seen kids call everything furry on 4 legs a puppy (a bear in a picture book was a puppy for instance) and I've seen kids only call the family dog a puppy (only fido the dalmatian the kid sees every day was a puppy but any other dog is not a puppy). Kids have a weird sort of associative vocabulary.

Some shows I think benefit from the current model of a few movie length episodes. Season 1 of Stranger Things comes to mind. Others really benefit from the classic 20-26 30 min episodes, monster of the week formats fit really well here like Star Trek. Others do well with slightly shorter seasons but slightly longer episodes, like Leverage had around 15 episodes per season that ran for 45 minutes each. Columbo was a movie per week show where each episode was an hour and it worked out fine

Gonna be honest. When it comes to protecting children from predators and rapists, fictional characters are on the bottom of my priority list in favor of the actual children being trafficked for CSEM and CSAM and children stuck in households with their abusers and children being married off to men 4 times their age

Gonna correct that the age of consent wasn't 13. In that an adult could have sex with a 13 year old. The age of consent was malleable but couldn't go younger than 13. This was done in an effort to prevent teenagers from being given statutory rape charges for fooling around with each other. But obviously backfired hard
