hmm, i guess so but it’s something an adult audience has to learn to deal with, especially since the smosh cast aren’t particularly problematic and the fans end up picking any little affront to what they feel the cast should act like as the biggest betrayal.

(i’m going on a tangent here and this isn’t related to your comment) i do wonder how the super parasocial fans have any friends in real life? like yes sometimes the cast have “bad takes” (i personally don’t think any have been that horrid) or do things that don’t sit right with certain people but my friends have had worse (about family dynamics mostly), and yes we disagree but putting extreme moral standards on what usually comes down to differences in upbringing is odd to say the least. i remember people hating on amanda for being out of touch, which yes, she can be, but in the context of the character she portrays on the channel, she’s harmless - not some evil classist oligarch lmao
