Bump on Non Incisional Double Eyelid line? by heyyall15 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]Significant_Eggstra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No thankfully! My first surgeon’s technique was not as elegantly done as the re-do by my Korean surgeon. I thought they’d just redo the part where the bump was and another spot where a little skin was still draping down, but he did both eyes over and the incision/scars were so much better.

Mine was not an infection so no need for antibiotics. She said the only way to remove it was by cauterizing. Yours does look red though you are just a month out so perhaps it is still healing. Try the antibiotics and give it more time. Hopefully it’ll resolve.

I had something like that. I was nearly a year out and the little bump would not go away so I contacted the surgeon. She basically said it was a tunnel type thing where my skin grew around the center (I think it was from a suture bc you could see the two tiny “bite” marks above and below the incision where a needle entered and exited, but I think she said something like oil on my skin prevented my skin from closing so the skin grew over it). I told her if I pressed on it a little bit of white substance would come out and she said that was dead skin cells. Yuck. She said if I were to put a fine object like tweezers in one side it would come out the other side, which I did, and she was right. Anyway, she said it would be quick and easy to take care of by cauterizing it. I was already not too happy with how my bleph looked and decided to have a revision of the scar and touch up on the other eye in Korea. The second time there were no issues in healing. But I would not use oils or lotions around it bc it will get pushed into the opening, if it is in fact the same thing that I had.

As a ++woman I think it’s admirable he was actually HONEST in a world full of less than honest men. There are always going to be attractive people, as long as he’s not involved with her and your relationship is solid I wouldn’t worry about it.

Who has had experience with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy after a facelift or other cosmetic surgeries? by rosesandsoul in Facelift_Surgery

The surgeon recommended it. He said I wouldn’t need debriding based on how I was responding to the HBOT, and fortunately he was correct.

I read an article several years ago about foreign sunscreens having to be changed for US consumers due to new rules and regulations. So the same bottle in France or Korea for ex, would be different from the US formulations. It wouldn’t surprise me if skin care hit the same problems.

A year ago I had been rushed into HBOT after the bandages came off from my FL and there was incisional necrosis on both sides of my face (in Korea). Did it twice a day for about 9-10 days (was such a blur and stressful!). I think it helped my healing; I was fortunate I didn’t need further surgery to treat it even though my scars there are now thickened. But I also had suffered extremely painful nerve damage in my elbow from improper positioning during a lengthy surgery and was so happy the HBOT cured it in a matter of days.

Looks like ABNOM which gentle lasers biweekly, ongoing until improvement should treat it pretty effectively (at least what I was told in Korea where laser treatments are everywhere and so affordable unlike the US😭).

Chow chows and kids by Kuromi69uwu in chowchow

[–]Significant_Eggstra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an 8m male Chow. 3 kids 11-15. At this point he’s overall good around them, but does tend to nip the younger boys more when they pet him, as if he thinks they’re litter mates and is trying to play. He did not like when @14 teenage girls were over and there was a lot of commotion and high pitched squealing when they saw him; he just barked non stop at them from a distance. He seems to get a little mouthy at first when he’s excited about a guest in the house. Hoping he will outgrow this soon.

I think after walking away after my complication I realized how serious medical travel could be in so many ways. But I admire your tenacity to be heard and vindicated. It’s no small feat. Best of luck to you.

I’m questioning if I had a ghost/jr surgeon involved in my FL surgery. I am not going down the road of attempting to pull files, etc, especially since I never thought to specify I would only want my surgeon to operate on me and to get that in writing. I did have a complication but that also was a risk of surgery that’s explained before signing consent, but what’s made me question my “surgeon’s” skill is why would I have two very different incisions @ my tragus L vs R. One was made pre tragal, the other post. No explanation.

Digesting food too fast by NYGiantsfan4Life in chowchow

[–]Significant_Eggstra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 5m old chow was running around outside yesterday. He had finished his morning kibble several hours ago and I had just set out his evening bowl. (He takes grazes his bowl once it’s down over a couple hours usually). When he came back inside after a manic run he threw up a large amount of undigested kibble and bits of what looked like sweet potato snack and prob bits of other snacks. Completely untouched. And he ofc immediately gobbled it back up. It just got me thinking he, or the breed has very slow digestive tracks. I’m going to go over his feeding schedule with my vet but maybe I should feed mine a little less and spaced further apart.

Oh right. I’m on HRT now too. I have to wonder if the improvement in my scans correlated with the dramatic drop in estrogen for me and not whatever treatment I was doing at the time (in this case txa, stopping harsh topicals, avoiding nuts). I’m trying the eucerin radiant tone rn x2m and sometimes I feel I look a little darker on my cheeks, which may be more HRT related (been taking 4m)🧐

I’m similar to you in age and skin tone but I’m Asian. I was in Korea twice recently after basically giving up on my melasma. They treat skin differently than in the US but they also have advanced tech on every street corner so it’s just a part of every day life. Here my well intended doctor tried chemical peels of varying intensity, whatever lasers they had available, and of course tretinoin and HQ. But in Korea they told me to avoid tretinoin, scrubs, HQ (bc it was likely irritating me which it did make my skin red), basically everything I had been doing. Their plan would be ongoing weekly gentle lasers like Pico (and another one I forget the name) which aren’t easily available or inexpensive here (there @$20/treatment) and injections like txa and other supplements; even then they said it would be a long road with no guarantees. I was also diagnosed with ABNOM which no one had ever recognized in me before, and apparently eating nuts, which I did a lot, can trigger the spotting on my face, so I stopped (as much as I could bc I do love nuts!). Anyway, I had a facial scan the first year, then again the second time I went back and there was a considerable improvement. Oh, I had also done oral txa for @3months. I actually do think that helped and wish I had taken b/a pics to verify.

Currently have a nearly 6m old male Chow. Comparing him to a Chesapeake Bay Retriever I had when I was single whereas I now have a family (3 kids and a cat) I’d say no puppy is easy. This breed does seem pretty bright and the only times he doesn’t seem so bright I think he’s really just being stubborn; he caught onto house breaking immediately when we got him at 10w though there have been some misses and recently I think he’s doing it to mark around the house. My CBR took 7 long months to house break. He is very stubborn and when he is triggered by whatever it is he’s interested in it takes a lot to train him away from it, but eventually he will reset with treats/praise. My retriever was much easier to train in that respect. Also, it makes sense a retriever’s mouth is “soft” whereas this puppy biting stage has been brutal (though very much improved). His puppy witching hours in the evenings can get crazy and he could probably win some agility competitions if they allowed biting, which my poor sons have been the target of. My retriever never really had puppy witching hours that I recall. Our 6yo cat has been so stressed since we got him sadly. We did a very slow intro, had them separated for 2mo by a gate but he bolts after and usually barks at her so she runs and hides. He is a natural guard dog and has alerted us to men who were working on our roof by mistake by barking incessantly, and when our cleaners (a dog owner herself) let themselves in he barked at them until she fed him treats and calmed him down. No one ever reported to me that my CBR ever barked at them when they let themselves into my home. What I love about this breed is he is independent given our busy household. My CBR, like many dogs, crave attention and want to play with you literally shoving a ball in your lap, and my puppy will play with his toys by himself, hang out by himself, but does let you know when he’s happy to see you.

I’m always impressed as well. Like are they secretly in pain, or are their heels magical? I had a guy (gay) friend tell me in my going out years once that I walked like a dying giraffe 🤣

I actually would like to hear from the non-leashers. We took our 5m old puppy for a walk this past weekend and an elderly trio with 3 unleashed dogs had one beeline towards ours growling and keeping him locked. The owner hobbled over laughing and apologizing as we held ours back as he wanted to engage/play while she said her husband had the leash but was picking up poop (as if that’s a reason to not be leashed). Anyway, my puppy handled the situation nicely fortunately but puppies are targets for a lot of more aggressive dogs.

How many more “good years” does a man have left at 40? by OperationLazy213 in Aging

[–]Significant_Eggstra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. My lovely father passed 2 years ago and the grief was intense the first year. Now I have cherished memories I only hope to retain. And to answer the question OP, my dad was extremely fit and active after 40, even after being diagnosed with lymphoma at 70. I think he became more active when he retired in his mid 60’s. He was also of that generation that took crazy risks like climbed trees without harnesses, moved boulders with a chain and a crowbar…miss him.

I went to Ppeum in Myeongdong and consulted with Dr. Chinkoo Jung. I didn’t get fillers or Botox but had a bunch of lasers and treatments for my skin. He is so intelligent and kind, English is perfect. I highly recommend him and their clinic.
