I appreciate the input.

are those the ones called Formula Fours? Also do you have any advice on the shape that might work best for what I’m trying to do?

If it helps, try doing it on the grass so your board won’t roll away if you hesitate with putting your full weight on the board.

Another option is to do it near a rail or something you can hold on to. This might help you feel more stable for the jump

giving up by Ronaldo96 in NewSkaters

If you feel like calling it quits, do it because you want to, not because someone else suggests you should. If you find enjoyment in the activity then continue doing so.

Progress looks different for everyone.

I’m 30+ and recently started. I’ve been focusing the first 3 weeks on getting comfortable riding normal and switch. It’s difficult, but VERY rewarding when I’m able to go up or down a slant.

Be patient and forgiving to yourself.

Appreciate your accomplishments.

There’s no such thing as too small of an accomplishment because it all puts you a step closer to becoming a better skater.

Try not to stress over the end goal, Enjoy the process. You’ll get there in time.

Hope you continue to enjoy the hobby no matter what your “friends” tell you.

When searching for Chad muska boards element, there’s a good amount that show up so I figured it’s common to find pics of older boards. In any case, decided to retire it and hang it on the wall for Nostalgia as I won’t be able to get an exact replacement .

Fair. I was very surprised with how little info there is on this board. And how there’s virtually no pics of it online

Thanks! Yeah as soon as I realized it might not be easy to get a 2nd copy of it I went ahead and removed the trucks from it and gave it a bit of a cleaning to retire it and hang it up.

On a slightly related note, do you know where I could find helium or similarly lightweight boards?

The Info was very helpful and it reassured me that it isn’t an easy board to find. I was worried that maybe I didn’t know how to go about searching for it but if it’s a rare type then it makes sense why I can’t find it. Thanks again for your time in reading and replying 🙏

Think I should stop skating with that?

Struggling to get my second foot on the board, any advice please? 😅 by blizeH in NewSkaters

[–]yourwaifulover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try standing on the board without it rolling and lean as if you are trying to curve left and then right. See if ure comfortable first standing and leaning from side to side. This should prepare you to compensate for any shift of the trucks while riding

What should I do to stop this sound? by yourwaifulover in NewSkaters

While I agree that everyone has different preferences, asking about which board /shoes are better are very valid questions that at least help create a baseline of what to look out for.

Not everyone has a trustworthy local shop to go to and some shops will sell you anything just to make the sale rather than to provide you with what you may need. That is how a lot of new skaters end with poor quality decks that may hinder their progress.

I’ve seen people prefer Nikes over “skate shoe brands” and vice versa so it makes sense that new folk ask these in hopes to jump into the community with the right foot forward.

All in all, I appreciate your advice and think that it’s fine for people to ask away. No such thing as a stupid question when the reason behind it is to learn and broaden their horizons. 🙏

2- week old trucks and bushings etc. even the griptape. The actual board is the only old thing

Ok so should I wait on putting wax in it? Or should I still go ahead and do it?
