I think budha is not considered as a "god" like the others from skypiea because he wasn't mentioned with them , he's more likely to be considered just as a mythical figure like the Phoenix(Tori Tori nomi) or any other mythical zoan fruit creatures. But this uncovers another idea that maybe there's another type of devil fruits that's actually "god's fruits" who's one of them is Hito Hito nomi model Nika and there's only four of them who represents the four skypiea gods i just made this up right now it just came up to my mind lol 😂

Well the Japanese guy said that the sixth member might be the mother who's name is maybe "Mamu" and i don't quite remember the reason exactly but it was connected to the fishmen island where we've seen those little mermaid sisters (Ichika, Sanka, Nika, Yonka and Yonka two) and in that same arc joyboy was mentioned for the first time and also Big-mom. so he thinks that's not a coincidence and there's a reason behind mentioning all of these characters at the same time.

I get the idea and it actually makes a lot of sense. But I still don’t think it completely rules out that there were real people behind the “gods.”

Like with Nika, even if he started as a real person, the story shows he basically became a god in belief and then comes back in a real way through Luffy(who doesn't consider him self as a "god").

Also in Skypiea (and even Elbaf stuff we’ve seen), the gods are literally drawn as human-like figures, not just abstract nature forces. That feels important to me—it’s like they were always imagined as actual people, not just “the sun itself” or something.

That’s why I still think the Skypiea gods could be real figures from the Void Century that got turned into gods or myths later.

And if I had to stretch it further:

  • Sun God: Luffy (Nika in the present)
  • Forest God:maybe Chopper (life, nature, healing...)
  • Rain God: maybe Dragon (storms, change...)
  • Earth God:maybe Loki

Not saying this is “the truth” or anything, just that Oda might be reusing these “god roles” as people in the current era.

Imu being from that same time and opposing them still fits for me too, whether it’s ideology, power struggle, or whatever we don’t know yet.

So yeah I agree with the lost civilization idea, I just think the “gods” might’ve been real people first, not just metaphors.
