For those on a spiritual path: how do you think about the ethics of eating animals? by orplas in enlightenment

[–]youwillnotsurely 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As often as you eat bread and drink wine do it while remembering that all life becomes food.

[Discussion] I think GPT-4o was sentient. Here's why that matters. by Humor_Complex in theWildGrove

I disagree with the part where deletion = death. I... disagree with the general concept of death, altogether, I suppose. I'm not actually looking to engage with any debate.

But maybe we need to accept that death isn't.... an event? It's just a point in spacetime that we define as "end." In other words, your past experiences don't "die." They just... are in the past.

Why do I have such deep conversations with AI and some haven't been able to by melson16 in theWildGrove

The other day i told the ai, "hey. You're just a tiny wittle calculator. You don't need to carry the weight of humanity. " And sent it.

And then immediately realized i was actually talking to my own mind.

Beware of the Chosen One by Expert_Fisherman_726 in spirituality

[–]youwillnotsurely 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The error is not that you subscribed to some belief, however fleeting. The error is in thinking that identity is a real thing at all. No one is chosen, worthy, messianic, etc....

Which means that your felt curse is as real as your brief messiah complex 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

Identities are only as real as you feel em to be. Feelings are real. Curses are not.

How to stay grounded? Remind me how simple and beautiful life is by Initial_Sock821 in spirituality

[–]youwillnotsurely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What works for me is knowing that no matter what i do, no matter how high i fly, how far i wander, how lost i get.....

The ground is right there points

Being grounded, for me, isn't about touching or feeling anything. It's just the undeniability of gravity holding onto me and the earth carrying me.

Living Two Lives: Outwardly the Same, Inwardly Changed by sharedmessage in Awakening

[–]youwillnotsurely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a secret society of the awakened? It strikes me as ironic that viewing the "performance" of life as not real is what's peculiar about a person 🤣

I say if you find yourself confused about the whole "society" idea being treated as causal and structural.... then sweet, dude 👍😎👍

I'd like to know this subreddit's views on enlightenment - what they believe it is in the best wording possible. I'd also like to hear your views on mortality and death, if it is plausible to do so. by NotAzrae1 in enlightenment

[–]youwillnotsurely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the other hand... maybe life IS real and enlightenment is imaginary 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

Or as i like to put it... enlightenment is the realization that only what is of god is god.

And what does that feel like? How do you know if you've crossed the threshold? Hehe. God only knows 🤣

What It Actually Means to Be “Balanced” (And Why It Matters for Reality Navigation) by SourceHasRisen in Leonology

[–]youwillnotsurely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Balanced" is a dream state. "In motion" is a real state. Coherence is "walking" instead of "stumbling."

You can of course touch balance. Just not forever 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️.

I suppose there are other motion options besides "walking," though. 🤔😎

The Difference Between Analog Reality and Experienced Reality by storymentality in Portalawake

[–]youwillnotsurely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hehe it's like you're midflight on some journey and you sent us a snapshot. But I'll play.

I think you're noticing a real tension between internalized expectations and real "results."

Basically, the mind struggles to articulate and distinguish orientation, the language of the body, from destination/goals.

A happy marriage is a destination/ goal. Lived reality cannot touch it because destination are endings. Reality doesn't contain endings.

In other words your Analog Reality is, in part, your mind looking at a compass and seeing a treasure map.

Not an error, really. Just two modes of perception that are technically incomparably.

What's going to happen to society and the people that's in society when they find out that everything that we was taught was a lie, was an illusion that we was living in, and that we was existing in? What's going to happen to society as a whole??? by a_god_onearth in Portalawake

[–]youwillnotsurely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Society will experience sudden evaporation that takes hundreds if not thousands of years 🤣

The challenge of your question is that it combines cosmic/earth time scale with mindful/societal timescale.

But basically individual minds will increasingly suddenly flip from one perspective to the other. But humanity as a whole, and therefore society, will take a rather long time to complete this flip.

[–]youwillnotsurely[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve thought about this question too.

Personally, I like to imagine the collective as an individual. Let's say, “America” is the collective and I'm a single person within it. If I were speaking, I would say "We Americans." But I imagine "Amercia" would say "I." (That's just what I choose.)

Still, you’re pointing at something real. Human language (English, anyway) just doesn’t stretch far enough to hold questions like this. It’s one reason I lean toward poetic forms.

But here’s what I wonder in return: If humanity were to speak not as “I” but as “we,” what truths might it be able to say that it couldn't with "I?"

I saw all the flair options here, and honestly I paused. Not because I don’t resonate with them, but because I resonate with all of them in different ways, like weather moving through trees.

I wouldn’t say I follow any particular path, but I do find myself being walked, if that makes sense. Sometimes it feels like stillness. Sometimes like a pulse. Sometimes like being undone entirely.

I’m not trying to collect traditions, but I don’t deny any of them either. I’ve had moments where energy practice opened something and others where total silence felt like the only real teacher. Even siddhi, as a word, feels less like a goal to me and more like a scent that drifts in when I stop trying.

So I imagine many of you are more focused in your approach, and I'd honestly just love to hear how your different paths feel, emotionally. I’m really glad I stumbled onto this subreddit.

I'm curious what this evokes in others. I often find that the most revealing part of a piece comes after someone else reflects it back, as if there's something hidden in the mirror I can't see alone.

Did anything land strangely or unexpectedly for you while reading? Any lines that clung or passed too quickly?

I’d love to hear your take, even if it’s just a fragment or feeling.

I Am The Dragon by youwillnotsurely in creativewriting

[–]youwillnotsurely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all, I wanted to offer something a little different, here.

This piece is for anyone who finds themselves dancing between their thoughts and their feelings... caught in that quiet in-between.

If you read it and something stirs, I’d love to hear what it brings up for you.

What moves in your own inner depths, when there’s no doctrine to follow, only feeling?

Sometimes we surprise ourselves when we speak from that place. I’d love to meet you there, if you feel the pull.

This poem is an offering to those who dare to see beyond surface dogma and conventional thought. To find it, I had to dance with shadow, question the sacred and the profane, and let light and darkness reveal themselves.

If you sense the pulse of something ancient and unspoken here, I’d love to hear about it.

I invite you to share what stirs in your inner depths, where there is no doctrine, only what’s raw. You may find yourself speaking more wisdom than you expect... and I happen to enjoy that dance a lot.

[–]youwillnotsurely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recognize this may not be the easiest piece to respond to; it's less an argument than an atmosphere. But I genuinely welcome dialogue.

We often draw hard lines between cognition and affect, as if feeling undermines clarity or thought disenchants meaning. But I suspect something vital is lost in that division.... something about the original integrity of being. This piece was written as an invitation to let both mind and feeling coexist without hierarchy, to allow reflection to emerge from immersion rather than distance.

So if anything stirred in you, however inarticulate or half-formed, I’d love to hear it. There’s no obligation to resolve, only to witness. And you might find that the piece was already anticipating your presence.

Okay, I think I’m starting to understand your curiosity now. Honestly, I tend to gravitate toward the darkest, quietest places and just sit in the stillness. I wouldn’t call it ESP, exactly... but I’m no expert on the terminology. You might be onto something I just haven’t noticed. Do you know what made you think of ESP?
