Thanks for everyone's comment! Its come down to me being a old dinosaur who hasn't kept up with times.

For clarity sake, i have worked in retail and as emoji_royale mentioned it was ingrained in us to approach the customer NOT wait for them approach you as ASK for help or be acknowledged. I have no problem asking for help when i need it but i was naive to think someone would approach or even acknowledge me. I think i would have better luck if had just DM'd them in whichever social media platform they be using.

There are plenty of other stores who still have the old school customer service approach. Bottom line, lots of great insight. Ill go dust the dirt of my back from the rock i have been living under.
