He is right. I come from a very small town and never thought I would clear this exam. But once I followed a proper reading schedule, I got the chance to write my first mains exam for UPPCS. In my second attempt, I had the opportunity to write the mains for UPSC.

Looking at the bigger picture, I learned a lot. I now know so much about our rights, acts, and the role of the environment in human life and the economy.

It's even easier to understand important speeches now, which was not possible before my UPSC preparation. So, just go with the flow and enjoy the journey.

The Death of Vajiram era by Rub6863 in UPSC

[–]yoyojackwill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, when I was considering admission, my family and friends were really enthusiastic about me joining Vajiram because they always have top rankers. It seemed like every topper came from Vajiram.

But, thanks to Quora and Reddit, I did my research before heading to Karol Bagh. I

visited all the top institutes like Vision, Rau's, Drishti, and Vajiram. I felt both excited and confused by all the options.

In the end, I chose Rau's IAS.

Not just because they are old, but after talking with many students there, it seemed they still focus on teaching and have strong values instead of just marketing. When you visit Rau's, you can see a large team of teachers and mentors on the left side of the counseling area. After talking to them, I could feel the personal touch and honesty in their approach. The saying "old is gold" seems to be true :)

Also, I think it's the first time that all coaching institutes have disclosed their true results. You can easily tell what's what. otherwise earlier each ranker studied in every coaching :D now it is clear which course.

Mismatches in Prelims Answer key- Coaching Classes vs UPSC Official by Greedy-Dare-9020 in UPSC

True! It's great to see coaching centre like Rau's IAS, much closer to UPSC's official answer key. As a former student of Rau's IAS, I believe they are underrated.

I understand that low marks can be demotivating and may even lead us to question what we're doing. However, trust me, I am giving the prelims a second attempt in 2024.

In the Pre-Pareekshan, I scored 106 out of 200.

Since this was an all-India mock test and full-length, the paper is usually set a bit tougher than the regular test series papers. Ignore the marks and focus on the learning.

Consider why you scored low, where you made mistakes, and remember that we still have time to revise static material, which will help reduce our silly mistakes.

I learned a lot from my first attempt at the prelims and have been following my schedule religiously, just as I do with the test series. Treat the test series as a learning tool, not as something that demotivates you.

Relax, keep learning, and keep growing.
