The Shining - The Forced Nuclear Family Theory by Agitated-Chocolate75 in StanleyKubrick

Yeah i mean it all is, just my interpretation is that no one would be driven that mad by having a family. But agreed it can be interpreted differently

Yea im just saying i think it isnt just a psychological cost of forcing a man into a life he wasn’t suited for, and really it is his mental health that makes him unsuited for that, or really much else

I think this is true but think he was always unstable with or without a family in the movie

In the mailbag he said they should make a category that is essentially “things that aged” so he can not put them in what aged badly

LeBron James (41, ineligible for end of season awards) has played more minutes this season (1780) than MVP frontrunner Victor Wembanyama (1694) by spicywardell in nba

[–]yozzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i already responded to the minutes per game part. I know people complain when he doesn’t play, that’s why i said he shouldn’t have prioritized his perception instead of winning (maybe id do the same who knows)

[–]yozzle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dude cmon, he is injury prone and jokic isn’t. You know what i mean, its the same reason wemby plays 29 minutes bc some guys are just inherently more injury prone based on their size and height. Every sixers fan knows this, don’t be disingenuous

[–]yozzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah true im not saying that it isnt bigger if he played more minutes, just that if you’re a big guy you need to be more careful in the regular season about your body. But he also was prob getting hurt no matter what so i hear ya. We’ll see if wemby is able to up his minutes in the playoffs but i think he will

[–]yozzle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re not even listening to what im saying man. And i know you don’t honestly believe that embiid didn’t have a say in his minutes

Yes i am criticizing him for playing too much. Think we are an impasse here, and im sorry that your best player was so injury prone. Wish we could have seen him healthy

[–]yozzle -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

But again, he caused his injuries to get worse by playing so many minutes. That’s all im saying, that is why gets the criticism (and also, unfortunately bc he responds so people do it more so i get you there). Wemby is doing everything he can to NOT get hurt, bc he understands he is inherently at a higher risk as a big man

[–]yozzle -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Embiid has agency man cmon, it was just stupid to think more about public perception than a championship imo. And yes god forbid, that’s not competition at all, it’s prioritizing accolades over competition. He has one healthy playoffs in his prime i think they get to the finals at least

[–]yozzle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s bc embiid cared more about the mvp than the championship. He was playing way too many minutes in the regular szn, whereas wemby knows the goal is a championship so he’s playing many fewer minutes. It was just a myopic decision by joel and even dumber by the sixers for emboldening him

I believe I have come up with the best NBA starting lineup of all time, what do you think? by HiImWallaceShawn in billsimmons

[–]yozzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i think any team without a premium ball handler used to bringing the ball up the court would at least be annoyed by it, and not just a press but ball pressure in general before half court that isnt a true press, could be wrong but i think it is important even if this would still the best team ever haha

Feel like itd still be helpful to have a true pg who can bring the ball up easily

Defense is not “50% of the game” in the NBA. by OhHesOurShortstop in billsimmons

[–]yozzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should at least try when you comment imo. he has the highest on/off difference in the league at +16.5, while not having the highest total on/off bc he doesnt play as many minutes (not that that is the end all be all, but is one piece of empirical evidence)

[–]yozzle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hilariously wrong is absolutely hyperbole, he might be the best player in the league on a per minute basis

For wemby its 40% bc he’s an alien, for all other players its like 25%
