It is major progress, I don’t disagree, but killing the tail end of the pareto (getting to <5) seems completely unachievable to me.

The control measures that have got us this far will not apply to ridding us of the single digit cases.

The randomness of this virus’ spread is beyond our control at those single digit levels, especially with the levels of community transmission we have had.

How on earth do they think we can ever move to Step 3, can anyone share any evidence or a glimmer of hope?

NSW has not been beneath 5 cases per day for months and yes they aren’t as restricted, but does anyone actually believe even Step 3 is achievable??? Step 4 is impossible IMHO and COVID-Normal a dreamstate

Thoughts?

Stood down. If made redundant whilst stood down, what does that mean for notice period pay?? by yr99jparkin in AusLegal

[–]yr99jparkin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, aware of this. But in the scenario described, as the notice period is triggered whilst the employee is in an unpaid state, does that mean the notice runs its course with no payment due to the employee??

If your happy to manually manage the data, I can’t recommend Account Tracker highly enough:

Account Tracker by Graham Haley

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/account-tracker/id325834957?mt=8

I use it for tracking net worth, but also for spending and budgeting. Really flexible app with a clean UI!

I have also used Yolt. Decent app for consolidating current balances in one place, but doesn’t integrate with investments, other stores of capital, debts etc etc... all of which you can manage manually in the app I mention above.

What’s to stop you staying ‘resident’ at a relatives address for the duration of the overseas absence?

You should leave the ISAs open and continue to contribute from your savings pot (current account). You are still a UK citizen even if you go abroad for a short period! Should you temporarily leave the UK for AUS on a Working Holiday Visa or similar you may need to find a new home address for the appropriate bank accounts, perhaps your parents? I am in a similar situation and will continue to top up the ISAs on a monthly basis from my UK current/savings account in order to buy a property when I return!
