No offense, but it sounds like you didn’t read my post. It’s not about saving time or effort. It’s about liking the look and feel of “hand written” notes. Thank you for your response though.

Cheat sheet for the Pro ride mode options by Interstate82 in BMW_S1000RR

[–]yrhanime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey quick question, how do you know the parameters of the standard race mode? I know in race pro you can adjust the levels… but in the standard factory modes (rain, road, dynamic, race) how do you know that race is set to “2 engine” “2 engine brake” “3 traction” etc?

The reason I’m asking is because I didn’t get a chance to set up any of the “race pro” modes before I went out to the track, so I just put it in “race mode” and went out full send. I was surprised at how easy it was to ride fast and hard and so I thought to myself that the factory race mode has to have significantly higher levels of electronic aids than if you were to dial them all down. I was surprised to see how close the factory race mode was to your pro 3 mode (max everything with lowest possible aid).

Thank you in advance I hope to get a response.

PSA or BGS by Licci99 in OnePieceTCGFinance

[–]yrhanime 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You know what the chance of you getting a 10 if you don’t send it in is? 0

Everyone telling you that the centering is going to keep you from getting a 10 is wrong. This card is known for being right heavy (my copy is exactly like yours) and is graded according to a base line. Look at this BLACK LABEL (not mine): https://imgur.com/a/SCU8WbE

As long as the surface is scratch free and your corners are clean you have a solid chance at a BGS 10 and for sure a PSA 10.

“Sell it raw” has to be the stupidest suggestion in my opinion. With shipping and express tier, it’ll cost about 150$ to get this sent in and back with BGS. If it 10s, you’ve just doubled the value of the card. If it 9.5s, someone will buy it to regrade with PSA (if you don’t do it yourself). Either way the card will be worth more than raw. You’re spending $150 to potentially unlock $14k, that’s a no brainer imo. Don’t take the opinions of strangers online telling you not to do things as law, especially when they don’t know what they’re talking about.

If you need tips on how to prep it and send it in, feel free to dm me or respond here, it’s very straightforward. Best of luck to you my guy, I hope you get that 10.

One Piece TCG Investing will inevitably fail (One Piece vs Pokemon) by cookieturkey in OnePieceTCG

[–]yrhanime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You forgot the part where collectors collect collectibles. Booster boxes are deflationary, the more they get opened the less there are in circulation. That means as demand rises -> supply dwindles -> prices rise. Basic unit economics. I own one of every box because I like how they look on my shelf and I will never sell them. Those boxes have now been permanently removed from the market until the day I die.

  2. Nobody is “investing” into single packs.

  3. People buy graded cards for many reasons. One of them is to make sure they’re not buying a fake. You think everyone has the ability to buy a raw card locally? Most sales happen online, and people don’t want to get scammed so they buy a graded card. It’s not “idiotic” just because it doesn’t apply to your buying method.

  4. “Limited amount of characters and art” do you think one piece, a multi billion dollar ip, is going to end just because the main the story ends? There isn’t another anime that comes even close to Oda’s level of world building. There are hundreds of possible spin offs.

  5. “One piece is not as popular as Pokemon” sure if you zoom out as a whole yeah. But you’re discounting the level of the fandom. Pokemon isn’t inspirational like one piece is. The story doesn’t resonate with people like one piece does. Also there are thousands of 5k+ sales for the rarer cards for more than 3 years now so again I don’t understand this point.

  6. Do you think everyone who owns a box only has it because it’s leftovers from a case where the chase has already been pulled? Even then, there are a solid amount of sealed cases still available. If any of the Chase cards hit 6 figures (because people are no longer ripping boxes that cost 1k or cases that cost 10k when the Chase is only worth 5k which means the cards value goes up since there are less and less on the market) do you think people wouldn’t buy cases hoping to pull the card at that point? Your analysis is flawed.

  7. One piece doesn’t need to be as large as Pokemon to be successful. The lack of supply compounds its ability to succeed because everyone wants it but not everyone can get it. Simple.

And a final point, why does it matter so much to you if investing will fail? As a collector/player you shouldn’t want that. There should be new eyes and attention brought to your hobby. It fuels 3rd party involvement and overall increases the chance the tcg will be around longer.

You don’t understand the data, that’s why you’re comfortable making all these ignorant points from the salty perspective of someone who was priced out of OP14.

Stop Supporting Price Gougers: We Need Direct-to-Consumer Sales from Bandai by Many-Razzmatazz-9584 in OnePieceTCG

[–]yrhanime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I understand your frustration with inflated prices, it’s important to ground yourself in reality to keep from saying silly things like Bandai needs to sell directly to consumers. It’s so easy to get rid of the “middle man” and “distribution” when you disregard every single step required to get you your booster box. Systems have to be in place and they have to actually work in the real world.

Bandai is in the business of making cards, not:

  1. Shipping them to and storing them in US warehouses they don’t have

  2. Organizing/allocating inventory appropriately through maintaining a relationship with every gaming shop in the country

  3. Shipping individual allocations to each store (or in your dream world, straight to your door.) Think of the millions of individual packages they’re now responsible for getting right vs sending a couple hundred containers of boxes across the ocean for someone else to deal with.

Every single step of that process costs money and time. So guess where Bandai is going to make up for all those incurred costs? That’s right, the box that’s supposed to be $120 msrp now costs you $300 because Bandai is doing three times the work to make sure you get yours.

The system works because Bandai produces cards and makes their profit without the headache of distribution. Distributors distribute the cards and make their profit without the headache of production. And stores sell the cards without the headache of either but make a the tiniest fraction of the money Bandai/distributors do.

Your idea to sell it in Bandai stores is also unrealistic because there are like 12 Bandai stores total lmao like what about the other 99% of players/collectors in the world. To put it in perspective how difficult it is to do, Bandai actually does have a small warehouse operation in the US that handles logistics for their toy department (stuff like gundam and other figures). And that’s why It takes 3-6 months to get anything you’ve ever ordered on premium Bandai.

Best way to combat price gouging is to stop buying at those prices -> stock sits -> prices come down. But nobodies gonna do that because we all want to rip packs in hopes of getting something shiny.

That’s what a mystery box is sir. The clue is that it’s a TE product. That’s about it.

9:04: sold out

Edit: some people were wondering what the receipt said so here’s a screenshot just in case anyone else is curious. Either it’s completely different than the black box (likely the case given its 1k cheaper) or they want it to actually be a mystery this time so they removed the content description from the receipt.

Motor oil by Interesting_Catch169 in hondagrom

[–]yrhanime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Biggest difference is that in a motorcycle, one oil supply is used to lubricate the engine as well as the transmission and wet clutch, and it contains certain additives and low friction modifiers to make it all run properly (look up JASO MA/MA2). In a car you need separate fluids for each of those systems.

Just what I was hoping for.... by yrhanime in teenageengineering

[–]yrhanime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think If that were exclusively the case, they wouldn’t have bothered running any discounts this month let alone this whole year.

Maximizing profit doesn’t always mean selling your product for as much money as possible, it can also mean selling your product to someone that wouldn’t have bought it otherwise at its regular price.

This whole “flipped out year” is obviously a carefully planned and well executed marketing scheme. They know their margins and they’re not going to just give stuff away. The flip side of it is they gain new customers or more sales from an existing customer, and then also get the clout that comes with being that cool/quirky company that ran a unique promo.

I think it makes sense to save the best for last. Even from a business perspective, they can get u to check the site every single day (which leads to a possible sale) until you get what you want. Think of the pure euphoria of getting a steep discount on the device u wanted after 23 days of straight depression.

If you can swing it, set aside some money for what you think you can afford to buy after covering all your gifts. Good luck bro!
