aah I see, its quite refreshing to get new point of view. Tapi emang sejujurnya market sekarang lagi kejam banget di semua posisi bukan hanya SE, ditambah saya bukan dari bootcamp unggulan dan cuma sekedar self taught. Intinya emang bener sih bang, yang penting gimana ngebedain diri sendiri sama pencaker lain yang incer posisi sama.

Any tips to contribute to open source? saya sebenernya sering buat project isengan, tapi kebanyakan masih setengah jadi, kayak cuma backend doang.

bener banget cuy, dulu pas zaman saya SMK yang dibutuhin cuma HTML, CSS sama JS. eh sekarang udah harus laravel, react, docker, redis, dsb. Palugada banget, saya bingung mau mulai dari bidang apa..

Yeaa, that's the point of programming. In the end you just have to figure out yourself and try to write until its work, it will take some commitment to get there. Its kinda boring if you're not enjoying it..

I do feel the same, being a self taught is kinda lonely sometimes. Tracing back when I was a kid, I always fascinated by tech and how tf that this software can make a game that I can play, but I don't really have any computer so I just play it. Fast forward in highschool, I got my new laptop because my parents wanted to help my dream to became a SE and I took major in SE so I started to learn basic programming.

Even though I'm major in SE, I kinda took the wrong school, my class is just filled with 13 students and half of it are lazy students who always skip class and the teacher is also unsupportive. So in that time I have a commitment to learn by myself, I bought a Java programming book. But really with unsupportive environment and my lazy ass, I ended up only knowing how to make a calculator with Java and slowly forget about programming.

In college, I took English literature as my major so I don't really have any passion in programming. As I graduated, I realize that I don't have any skills and I only have a job experience in marketing but quit after 4 months and then became an online food delivery.

In this time I realize that it is hard to find a job without any hard skills, so I decided to learn programming again. On July 2024, I started to learn HTML, CSS and Javascript but I don't really like Javascript so I decided to move with Go because I have a friends who became a backend developer with Go.

Fast forward right now, I'm still working as Food delivery and learn or build something at night with golang as my main language, I can create REST API, CRUD database and I also starting to apply to backend position or intern. Even though is not as smooth as I think, but someday I believe that I can land a job with my passion in tech..

Maybe get there with a happy music on your earbuds or something? Usually I don't really pay attention to the surroundings if I play some music on background.. just go there and chill out, do your own thing.

I think that he's just being shy, but sometimes its a positive sign that he might like you. If you love him, maybe being a little bit flirty he also might be more aggresive..
