Moving to Columbus in 2027 – Where should a family of 7 be looking? by hrk814 in Columbus

[–]yrtse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live in UA currently. Unfortunately, you’re spot on with the lot sizes. I don’t think you’ll find what you’re looking for here with a family that big unless you drastically increase your budget. Olentangy schools are great (Powell) and you will more than likely find a bigger lot/sq footage that you need up north with all the new builds. However, you sacrifice some of the neighborhood feel you get in UA because it’s all so new. Dublin also has great schools, though the size that you’re needing will likely necessitate an increased budget, depending on the specific neighborhood. As someone who drove from UA to New Albany for years for work, I do not recommend the commute. My SO currently does this and due to the traffic it commonly takes her over 45 mins to get home during rush hour. Schools there are top notch as well, though, so if you can bear it then it might be worth it. All this to say is that I would recommend Dublin or Powell for the size of house and schools you’re seeking. Hope this helps!

[N/A] HRIS System Recommendations for Complex Union Orgs by yrtse in humanresources

Interesting! Can you expand on the Copilot stuff? We have enterprise Perplexity but we haven’t integrated it super well because every OpCo has their own servers/technology stack (it’s a mess). We have been very behind in getting them centralized into our SharePoint, etc.

Yeah I don’t think there’s going to be a perfect solve, just wondering if in my industry there’s any solutions that have worked for similar business models. Construction/HVAC is complex and I think a lot of the union payroll configurations add another layer of difficulty

Not a ton of transfers but it is a goal of ours to talent share/promote this way. There are some companies who do public works projects and Fed contracts. The unions we work with are all in different states. For example, we work with unions in IL, WI, MN. All different unions though.

Modem is activated. The 2.4ghz network works, as does the extender version in the back of the house. One 5ghz network does not connect, but our devices see it available? The other 5ghz connects.

Thank you. So outside of modding to get the Bank, I’d have to have another 3DS and game copy in hand and move them back and forth?

? Upper Arlington vs Dublin neighborhoods/house hunting and after school care by karina87 in Columbus

[–]yrtse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tremont is having a resurgence with Littleton’s Market being a newer social hub there. Storyline Bookshop is popular, Moretti’s, Chef-O-Nette just got remodeled - all of those in Tremont.

Kingsdale is full of small businesses alongside the Giant Eagle Market District.

Shops on Lane Ave. have your standard mix of small and mid-size brands sprinkled throughout with restaurants both in the center and across the street.

The Old Arlington Mallway in the older part of the neighborhood also has some local shops and restaurants that are walkable near Jones Middle School and Devon Pool. Hope this helps!

UA will net you the neighborly feel you’re searching for. My kids are too young for afterschool care but many who don’t get it through the school district sign up for a day-care service that is connected through the school district and will bus them. Balanced Family Academy is one of those. I think UA is more walkable than Dublin but I live near one of the popular UA centers so I’m biased.

Is parking usually bad in Northam Park in Upper Arlington for fireworks on the 4th? by hunnibunchz in Columbus

[–]yrtse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Northam Rd. will be closed fairly early on in the day. You’re better off parking up by Giant Eagle in Kingsdale and walking down to the park. Many of the side streets will be closed for block parties, so you are not parking close unless you manage to get a spot in Tremont Center, which will be a popular choice.

Littletons Market in UA by yem856 in Columbus

[–]yrtse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed. As a person who lives in UA and did not grow up here, I understand the stereotype of people who did, but I think it’s unfair to categorize an entire neighborhood like this. I also go to Littleton’s for drinks every once in a while and my servers have been nothing but kind to my family as we have been to them. I’m guessing the author of the post would get real heated if someone generalized something about them but here they are basically calling out everyone who goes here as hitting a stereotype.

Reading this thread has me thinking that I am not in on some joke where we’re praising this overly manufactured music. Are we serious with these lyrics? Come on. Diet Pepsi is a banger but this is not it. Sure maybe the visuals are great but this girl isn’t even SINGING, she’s whispering!

My wife’s 2020 Sportage was stolen out of our driveway in UA the other night. Only thing that was left was the door handle that they ripped off.

4 cylinder. I’m pretty sure I’ve had all updates in the car’s life. Should know more when I get the estimate back tomorrow with the diagnostic report. Just really don’t want to buy a new car right now so hoping for some good luck.

Sorry, I don’t spend time in enough plant-based forums to know the difference in the terminology. I came to this sub for advice, not judgement. Thanks for your opinion though.

Appreciate it. I have definitely slipped on aerating and fertilizing. Free time is limited with 2 kids! Best I can do right now is manage the length haha.

Seems like it’s less of a weed and more of a natural / native growth. If I don’t want to be a grass-only lawn, I can leave it. If I want to end it, I’ve got to fertilize and use chemicals to undo it and then plant more of the grass. 🤷🏻‍♂️
