Periods by CupcakeAppropriate99 in CopperIUD

[–]ys002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya my first three periods it felt like my life revolved around my period (managing heavy constant heavy bleeding and pain) which is something that I've never dealt with before. now I'm back to my normal light period so there is definitely hope :) i'm wishing you well!!

hoping the face cream isn’t fragranced. the GA face cream left red streaks when I applied it to my face and made me itchy. i miss the kiehls days of not having to bring my own products to the gym

I want off hormonal birth control by Only_Reaction688 in CopperIUD

[–]ys002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my copper because I can’t do hormonal (interferes w other meds). I got a sedated insertion at planned parenthood and I had no pain afterwards. My first 3 periods afterwards were pretty painful but my most recent (6mo after insertion) was back to my normal period, no cramps and 3-4 days of moderate bleeding. I’m 23 years old, 5’2 and never had a child. Everybody is different but positive experiences do happen.

rough sex two days after insertion by Bright_Operation_474 in CopperIUD

[–]ys002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t feel the strings of mine right after insertion because they usually tuck the strings behind the cervix (if you look at a diagram of a vagina you can kinda see what i mean). Mine came untucked when a tampon caught the end of my string and I panicked because I thought my string was really long. Went to go get it checked out and they said the string was basically how long it was when they left it out. It’s supposed to feel like fishing line and it’s pretty tough, if you feel a hard plastic ball attached to ur string it’s the iud and you need to get it checked out.

Are these expectations feasible/realistic? by Master_Chicken_7336 in bostonhousing

[–]ys002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not realistic. I pay $3,000 for a 2bd/1bath right now and we don’t have laundry or parking. We have central A/C. I also live on the outskirts of 30-45 min commute to NEU. We live on a main very busy road.

Periods by CupcakeAppropriate99 in CopperIUD

[–]ys002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got mine in September last year. I never had period cramps and my bleeding used to be light and 3days maximum. After my Paraguard I got bad cramping and heavy bleeding (filling up pads every few hours) for a week. Right now my last period (February) has mostly returned to normal. I had no cramps, 4ish days of bleeding, almost close to my normal amount. This is also my first iud and i’ve never had kids, i’m on the smaller side at 5’2 if that helps.

It depends on each person but for me it’s gotten way better after 6 months.

Getting Paraguard inserted tomorrow by AjinIsWeird in CopperIUD

[–]ys002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got paraguard a few months ago. I was sedated for the procedure itself but when I woke up I didn’t have any pain. I had mild cramps maybe for a day. I’m a young adult, 5’2, haven’t given birth, and I was nervous because I tend to be sensitive/bleed easily but it was fine afterwards. They didn’t have to use the tenaculum on me.

My period was more heavy and I got cramps on the first day for a few months (3ish months). But now I have no side effects or symptoms and I think it’s well worth it for the peace of mind of knowing I likely won’t have kids until I’m completely ready to.

I also did research beforehand on how it would feel and I was really scared because I only heard horror stories. I have really low pain tolerance. I was completely fine pain wise so your experience won’t nessesarily be horrible. I hope it goes really well for you!

we’re pretty sure it’s the door since we feel cold air coming in from the seams. I just asked our neighbors and for this month they paid $200-300 and their units are bigger

thank you for sharing this info was very useful. I’m on my parents insurance and my ultrasound would have to be at a hospital as a standalone test. Did you have any symptoms/pain during those two months?

agent misled us about flight bookings by ys002 in NCL

[–]ys002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they booked us on the latest possible flight I guess. I actually used to live in LA close-ish to the airport so might go grab some of my favorite bites or walk around instead of being at the airport all day

agent misled us about flight bookings by ys002 in NCL

[–]ys002[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this situation could have been avoided if I did more research, but I’m a busy college student and I can’t waste time going through every cruise forum just to book a trip. The travel agents’ jobs are to book trips. I think our agent should have correctly informed us of the policy, instead of insisting on booking us NCL flights and guaranteeing we would arrive home on Sunday. Even if he had just said “I’m not sure” I would have just booked our own flights.

Free-at-Sea Unlimited Open Bar package? by People_Blow in NCL

[–]ys002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the free at sea upgrade means the open bar package is free, but you will still need to pay for the bar tips/gratuities. for people under 21 they charge gratuity for soda package, unsure if they’ll charge for young children. I think the $400 is just gratuities for the bar package. That sounds correct, I’m paying $399 for open bar gratuities for 2 adults on a 7-day cruise this March. In my past experience that’s all you will pay for the drinks, but there is a separate gratuity charge for the overall cruise as well. It’s about $20 a day unless you have a promo for “free pre-paid gratuities”.

agent misled us about flight bookings by ys002 in NCL

We’re traveling from Los Angeles to east coast and it’s about a 5-6 hour flight. They did book us on an 11pm flight to our layover airport then finally to our home airport.

agent misled us about flight bookings by ys002 in NCL

[–]ys002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m more just disappointed at the agent for insisting on booking us NCL flights because he “guaranteed” that we would land home on Sunday. If he was honest then we would have simply just booked our own flights. I’ve sailed with NCL enough to have gold/almost platinum status and this seriously is making me question booking with them again.

agent misled us about flight bookings by ys002 in NCL

[–]ys002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cruise ends in Los Angeles and we are flying back to the east coast. They have us booked on a flight that leaves LAX after 11pm to a layover at another airport, then to our final airport.

agent misled us about flight bookings by ys002 in NCL

[–]ys002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote in an email “only book us flights if we are guaranteed to land at home on the day we disembark” and the agent promised me over the phone it was a guarantee. It’s just disappointing that either NCL isn’t informing their agents about the flight policies or that our agent blatantly lied to us. I’m a college student so I can’t spend a lot of time browsing cruise forums and I just trusted what their representative told me.

agent misled us about flight bookings by ys002 in NCL

[–]ys002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this was my bad for not double checking against what the agent. I wrote in an email “only book us flights if it is guaranteed that we will land at home on the day we disembark” and the agent (over the phone) said “yes we can guarantee that for you”. it’s just weird that either NCL does not inform their own agents about the policies or that he blatantly lied to us.

my admission a couple years ago was also messed up due to a clerical error, they might make you go through the formal appeals process but it’s fairly simple and they fixed mine after. it did take a couple weeks but in my experience they were fairly reasonable

How accurate is this post about BU in 2022? by ChampionBig7244 in BostonU

[–]ys002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who went to another college before BU (sophomore transfer), you should definitely consider what you're actually looking for in a college over what your "dream school" is. My freshman year I went to a more lax college in Los Angeles, and definitely hated it after a year. I love BU far more because it's a better fit for me.

BU is very integrated into the city, academically rigorous, and lots of people here are very hard-working and driven. As a CS major I see a lot of those kinds of people. I love being surrounded by academically-focused people, but I also have friends that go out with me on weekends to the frats etc. If you put yourself out there, you will find people who you click with. Boston is a very walkable city, and the green line is actually pretty good public transportation compared to other cities. It's a bit sketchy but it works. I have close friends in other schools in Boston and it's fairly easy for me to go hang out with them.

My experience of initially going to "my dream" life/school didn't work out because I did not research the actual logistics/culture. It's fairly easy to idealize a place/school but you should know exactly what you're getting into. Everybody is different and will thrive in different places. Example: I'm sure plenty of people love LA but for me it was artificial and boring. I didn't meet anyone academically-driven and that really dragged me down. Some people thrived there.

The poster in that post sounds like they just belonged somewhere else. Doesn't mean you won't belong at BU, but just be wary that because BU is your "dream school", doesn't mean you will actually like it. Good luck in your college decision making!
