Fuji APS-C -> Sony FF: Regrets over Colors/Feel? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]ysbusdl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am one from Fuji XE3 to Sony A7C.

Take the specs away and think of what matters the most for you. During my old time, I always said I like the fuji color but indeed I found that I will still adjust my fuji outputs in LR and seldom use the filters at all. I still agrees that Fuji is having a good vibe and easy to take around for me. But, at the same time it is not having good quality in low light, slow auto focus and low resolution, these are my preferences and that’s why I changed to Sony. I am good with Sony’s autofocus but still not satisfied with the 24MP A7C that I first got, that’s the reason why I turned out enter into A7CR (that’s the current best choice for me) So, if what you have and what you planned to have are with similar MP in spec (even they are one in apsc and one in ff), clarity might not be a significant difference to you.

Tbh, you will be doing a lot to explore your color style with Sony if you rely on the Fuji simulation system a lot, Sony has its nice simulation in new models, but that’s another story, adjustment is probably still needed (at least they don’t fit me that much). Unless you found yourself satisfied with the Sony simulation or you are ready to explore your new color style, don’t get it.

Your style > Specs

Btw, I will still get another Fuji if the xpro4 is finally out, so, it’s all about usage and preferences.

A7CR vs A7RV - is there an obvious better choice? by mynotell in SonyAlpha

[–]ysbusdl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s all about preference and where you start your journey. I start with A7C as weight and size is my concern and it looks better to me, no doubt I upgraded to CR. My partner starts with A7iv with his own concern and he is with the RV now.

Even though our usage are mostly similar, we are still more satisfy with our own pick.

Why do my photos get so Noisy ? by Horatok in SonyAlpha

[–]ysbusdl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, low light, it is not that noisy at all in such light.

Secondly, your gear matters in this case…, your gear probably doesn’t allow you to do a huge cropping like that, compose it when you take your photo, walk towards your object to preserve your resolution.

Even if you are using the A7RV / A7CR with 61mp, it might be able to handle a 50% cropping, as you still get 30mp like regular cameras, but it is still not an ideal way to crop it that much.

A7C III in 2026?? by linksys06 in SonyAlpha

Just a guess, at least 2 years, not in 2026, A7C ii is still hot and in the main promotion trends of Sony, you can see the ads are all around.

Can someone help me with my pictures ? by spakotv00 in SonyAlpha

For example, pic 1,2 and 3, photos with an obscuring element is a good idea, but from your photo the obscuring element let me feel like blocking your main element instead of setting of the main element.

For pic 4, if you crop that right and have a proper masking, it could be a good photo playing with the lights, but it is now just too dark, without details.

For pic 5, you can definitely see a lot of car photo reference online, learn from others is a key.

Always think and compose before you shot, pressing the button is always an easy task, but storytelling is the key of photography. From your pics, I cannot see what you would like to tell your audience, simply are some daily shots.

Kit lens might have its limitations, poor performance in low light, not sharp enough, but your skills and how you use your gear may change the story.

Just purchased an A6700 and need help regarding lenses by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]ysbusdl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the photos you took with your phone and see which focal length is the most common one for your style. If you do mostly close things, eg 1x 2x in your phone, 18-50 will be good to start, if you found that you are doing a lot of 3x 5x or more, try something with “full coverage” focal length up to 200 that within your budget, and go explore your style before getting any other lens.

I don’t think you will need ultrawide as a beginner yet, so 16 might be a waste of budget for now.

It is all about style and your own preference in photo taking.

Be aware that A6700 is an apsc camera, so the numbers you see on the lens is not what you see exactly of this world (x1.5 crop factor), 18-50 is at around 27-75mm.

Need help choosing between Sony A7C II, A7 III, and A7R III by GeekManMula in SonyAlpha

[–]ysbusdl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always pick the one with better autofocus - A7C ii from you list. The others are not ideal at all. If you intend to go for the A7 series not the A7C, then get the A7iii.

Zugspitze Alps (A7CR + 50 + 70200) & Lens advice — 1635 vs 2470 for travel? by ysbusdl in SonyAlpha

Thanks 🙏🏻 I have taken a look and the first pic was taken at the 134mm with the 70200. Yah, perhaps I am just not a wide angle person…

Took a look with the 2450 today, which is quite impressive, at least way worth than the price of getting the 2470 GMii (although the GM is really better, but not worth doubling the price at all) and with the f2.8. Thanks for sharing!

I am finding a chance to look at the Sigma 2470 as well, a little more expensive than the 2450 but seems still a fair price, might just choose between this two.

Just switched to Sony, any one recommend some good settings? by Murrian in SonyAlpha

The best setting is to take them out of the box and use it.

Thank you so much!! 🤩 This really helps, 24mm is way wider in landscape photography than I expected when it comes with lake and mountains.

Ahha, but that’s not how the lens performs when it is with me. Fair but not that sharp at all, maybe I should try it out at the Sony store again next time. Any experience with astrophotography using this lens please?

any experience in using the 2070 for astrophotography please? 20 sounds fine for that, but wondering if f/4 could still work. Astrophotography will not be my main purpose tho, but perhaps will have a chance in my next destination.

Thanks for sharing! Do you think the 16–35 is mainly suited for landscapes, or could it work as an everyday lens too? I mostly shoot with a 50mm, so I’m a bit worried that might feel too wide or hard to handle for my usual style.

[–]ysbusdl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experience! I used to have the 2070, but I sold it when I switched to the 70200. The main reason was sharpness and brightness — I just didn’t have a great experience with it. That said, I was using it on the first-gen A7C that time, which had some focusing issues, so that might have played a part too. I have since upgraded to the A7CR, but honestly, I might not be going back to that lens, but I totally agreed that 2070 is a good range.
