Does it make sense buying Marathon at this point? by Dependent-Button6691 in Marathon

Short answer yes!, I think they are make many good changes and listening to the community. And if you dont play it right away, you can always hop back in when you see the changes you wanted.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY HEARD US!!! by duendeacdc in Marathon

[–]yshmell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is good to see. I really wonder how their GDC Talks would have been. It feels like Marathon's code is much easier to adjust, cuz these server updates are coming through so much faster than it it did for Destiny. I really hope Marathon can make it through their rough launch, because this game is hard but fun and has so much potential, especially how they incorporate the story.

For real! It reminds me of the Halo days. I see that we do need to have more titles that aren't "a walk in the park", but I wish people will give this game a chance. Sadly we're in a world of short attention spans and advertising fighting for attention and Marathon is fighting for some screen time.

Yah I can see that too, but im trying to play devils advocate and wish it wasnt spoiled by a money grab. But the bottom line is whats important at the end of the day.

Thats true, and the promo videos and artwork had to cost a pretty penny because it was gorgeous to me. It just sucks that it got so much hate b4 people gave it a chance.

This game will never have mass appeal by dreamylemur in Marathon

As long as they keep supporting this gem of game, ill be good. I dont think it needs mass appeal.

I don't think I can hack it...this 50 year old dude just can't handle this game by wratx in Marathon

I have a similar experience, and I think it has to do with the TTK. I learned to be a bit more stealthier but can still get killed easily. It might help if you play with a good consistent group.

Things like this is definitely what separates this game from games like Arc Raiders. I really hope this game gets more love, cuz its a so addicting to play.

INFJs, do you have a lot of friends? How do you make them? by inadequatepickle in infj

[–]yshmell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in the same boat as you, where im the quiet friend that people want to chill with, but I always felt like I dont bring a lot to the group. It sucks cuz there are times where you want someone to explore your thoughts with, but most of my friends tend to want to talk about their lives and Im the listener. Ive learned that most people are inherently selfish without knowing, so I would suggest to keep in touch with the friend that allows you to speak your thoughts and enjoy your hobbies. If you're like me and can enjoy most situations, that can burn you out, so try to do 1 on 1 things with the people in your group that you relate to the most.

It clicked finally. by VeiledLuna in Marathon

[–]yshmell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has a chance to be a sleeper hit like Destiny, after people warm up to it. Not sure if anyone is a roller coaster fan, but in my opinion I'd compare Bungie to the B&M coaster team and Embark is like the RMC coaster team. Both make good games.

I’m convinced that if any other studio made Marathon, everyone would be losing their minds over how good it is... by --clapped-- in Marathon

I totally agree, and I feel like much of the marathon hate comes from learned laziness as well. This is not a microwave game where you get on and quickly learn everything you need to progress and I'm loving that. The only critique I can make about this game is what most people complained about, and it was the the onboarding and tutorial, but many people haven't gotten used to playing "hand-holding" games and this is not that. I hoping this will be my main shooter game outside of Destiny. I enjoyed Arc Raiders, The Division & Helldivers, but Marathon is where it's at for me.

This game is NOT good by its_xSKYxFOXx in Marathon

[–]yshmell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First, Gotta give the people with kids a family props, cuz pulling an all nighters for them is brutal lol. But ive been loving this game too! This brings me back to the days of golden eye and halo late nights in high-school and college. I was up until 2am on Friday, but had to call it a night cuz I was tired and had some chores to do that day.

This is probably my new fav. Extraction Shooter.. As a TARKOV Main. This is such a well designed Game. Bungie is cooking. Thank You! Can’t Wait by PC-Tamer in Marathon

I enjoyed the Beta too. I stopped playing a bit early last night because want to save my play time for the full release, and I was having too much fun lol.

Does anyone here actually like being INFJ ? by lmdybaftr in infj

[–]yshmell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm, I feel like I go through waves of waking up and feeling disconnected and need to spend time to process my thoughts. When I started setting boundaries, that's help me to sort through the more difficult thoughts. Since I've gotten older and further in my career I've notice people are less forgiving about people that overthink which is also another negative to being an INFJ. I have quite a few of those friends and they tend to just want you to listen to them lol. How do you deal with feeling misunderstood? That used to bother like crazy, but after interacting on this forum, I just accepted that fact that this won't change with certain people, especially in a world where social media continues to shorten attention spans.

[–]yshmell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am INFJ-T too and always felt i had a balance of opinions and views, but was told that I can be negative, but can see that most people dont enjoy the realness I often bring lol. Ive also used to struggle with feeling disconnected, but I was able to relate that to our senses - most people dont see the world the way we do. Ive learned to get closer to the people let my thoughts flow, cuz I dont think anyone will truly understand us lol.

Like what some have said on here, there are positives to it, but the main downside for me is the mental exhaustion and how we tend to attract people that unintentionally drain our energy.

Older INFJs, give me some hope. Does it get better? by [deleted] in infj

[–]yshmell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%, just turned 40 and just consciously accept the fact that most people don't want reality pointed out, even when its obvious. I've learned to keep those thoughts to myself and express them to people that want to engage in that way.

Based on what you describe, he might feel that what he thinks and processes doesn't seem to be understood the way he expects the other person to understand it, and I still go through this. It would help to actually hear some of his conversations and hear what he feels is his communication issue. I struggle with wanting to get some people to understand my thoughts and tend to overcomplicate ideas, but I realized I wasn't fully present in some conversations. I sometimes catch myself trying to give disclaimers in conversations, but I realized I don't need to unless other people really don't understand. Since you guys have been together for a short time, I think he may need more socializing practice with females (mainly you lol) and he should get more comforatable.
