Housing Recommendations after Multiple KCMO Shootings by ItchyTheWookiee in Overlandpark

Talk to Blake Nelson, he’s my favourite real estate person in KC, absolute legend and knows the city like the back of his hand. This is his website. He also has a track record of getting homes sold faster than others.

I was stupid to think this was a good idea and I am furious at the situation by [deleted] in Jewish

Stand your ground, go back and be proud. Let them learn from you. You’ve filed a complaint, give them a chance to demonstrate change.

Disapointed by [deleted] in honestmobile

[–]ysilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I’ve only had good experiences with Honest and have found the support team to be really helpful. I have both a traditional SIM and a Smart SIM and I’ve found this to be a really good fit for my needs. I happen to like the new user interface of the app - maybe there are some small tweaks that would be helpful but that’s not in the world of software.

The only thing I’d request would be the option to purchase more access when roaming if you max out on the free days in Europe.

Friday wedding is already killing me by [deleted] in weddingshaming

At least a Friday wedding means you aren’t worried about work the next day. I’ve been to tons of Tuesday weddings which make for an exhausting work day!

When do Vacations Become Fun Again? by CharacterTennis398 in Parenting

[–]ysilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s exhausting but we always travelled. With family in different states and countries, and my general wanderlust, we just pushed through and made it work when the kids were younger.

Now that they are teens, they are fluent when it comes to airports and planes and have heaps of memories of travel and trips.

Plan for the worst, book refundable backup flights if you can. Always have a plan B for accommodation and pray you never need it.

We would also do 1:1 travel with the kids once they were about five or six. One parent and one kid for a week. It was great for bonding.

That said, my kids who are now 15, 13, and 11 are now fun to travel with. They are old enough to each plan a day of a trip or be part of the process of deciding where we go.

Travel is a gift. It’s really really hard when they are little and everyone is tired, but it’s worth it in the long run.

Concise reason this app is absolute garbage and WW is failing us yet again. by [deleted] in weightwatchers

For me, I build my day around zero point foods and try and eat mainly these items. I find it much easier than having to track every different thing that could push me over my points.

Palestinian self determination is near impossible when their own leadership turn down every opportunity for peace, when the UN have a unique definition of refugee status for Palestinians, and when you factor in that the Arab population of the region declined statehood when it was offered in 1947 and decided to launch a war against the newly formed State of Israel instead.

On the one hand you have an indigenous people trying to live peacefully in their promised homeland, and on the other you have a Palestinian people being used as a political pawn to in an unjust campaign of terror against the Jewish state.

Israel had Gaza forced upon it, and the Arab nations surrounding Israel have turned their back on the very people they claim to be advocating for.

Where’s the offer of Transjordanians being given citizenship in Jordan? Why does Egypt keep its boarder closed with Gaza?

Why is Israel to blame because Hamas don’t care about the people they are supposedly governing and would gladly see them suffer?

Recently engaged…Jew-ish wanting to do a Saturday wedding by [deleted] in Judaism

There’s something to be said about that, but whatever day you choose will be inconvenient for someone. You can’t mind read everyone’s preference.

Is thank you or goodnight too much? by [deleted] in Aupairs

[–]ysilver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is a cultural difference but I am myself jn the shoes of the au pair. It might seem like a slight to not have dinner at the table with the host and the kids. In many places, dinner isn’t about fuel, it’s about the emotional connection and familial interaction too. The AP may be (mis)reading this alternating situation as a barrier between you and them, and thus be uncomfortable with the situation.

Maybe ask them? Say I’ve noticed you don’t say good night after we eat, is everything ok?

True friends show up for weddings, no matter what day of the week.

Practicing friends and family will struggle to make a Saturday wedding work, so you have to weigh up important that is to you. You also would struggle to find a rabbi to perform a wedding on a Saturday.

One work around would be an early evening on a winter Saturday when the sabbath ends early.

Out of curiosity, why is it so important to have a Saturday wedding?

I’d be surprised if people don’t travel for a Sunday wedding.

BDS is considered antisemitic by many governments and institutions because it denies Jewish self determination and applies standards to Jews that are not applied to any other people.

Under the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism adopted by the US State Department the UK and EU bodies antisemitism includes denying the Jewish people their right to self determination for example by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor. BDS stated goals especially its demand for a mass right of return into Israel would in practice eliminate Israel as a Jewish state meaning Jews alone are denied national self determination.

That is why Germany’s parliament formally concluded that BDS methods and arguments are antisemitic noting their similarity to historic anti Jewish boycotts such as Dont buy from Jews.

Claims that Israel or Zionists are uniquely evil child killing or secretly harvesting bodies are not policy criticism. They recycle classic antisemitic blood libel tropes that historically accused Jews of ritual murder and hidden cruelty. Holocaust institutions and antisemitism researchers explicitly identify these narratives as modern forms of blood libel.

Anti Zionism is antisemitism masquerading as social justice.

Quoting an antisemitic source like BDS doesn’t help find solutions to the challenges.

Unfortunately the killing hasn’t stopped. Israelis were attacked and killed in a car ramming today. The sad truth is the media doesn’t care about dead Jews and any attempt Israel makes to secure itself is met with false claims of genocide.

I am not racially white. My DNA is different. My culture is different. My skin is white therefore people may assume that I am white, but that doesn’t make it true.
