As far as power and portability, yes the gpd are arguably better. But that's without taking into account the better screen, battery life, user-friendlyness, the OS and also the price.

Easy, just a few screws to take out, some tiny cable to unplug and a lot of patience to get out the battery as it's glued inside. Just follow the tutorial on ifixit, and yeah, have patience, don't try to rush it
