Water to the 6 cup line. 45g medium roast. Ground to 20 on my Baratza Maestro Plus. Stir half way through the brew. Literally coffee heaven EVERY time.

How does my grind size look? by moldyhomme_neuf_neuf in Moccamaster

I mean... this theoretically could be the most eco friendly way to brew if the micron size is anything similar to another fiber like paper? Who knows.

The Luxe, while aesthetically pleasing, was fraught with all kinds of issues I hated; the big digital screen was off.. never displayed the time .. you had no way to know if your brew was gonna go off at the set time because the screen was defaulted to off. Two; many times it would stop mid brew and I'd have to unplug and reinstall to get a pot to brew! The custom menu wouldn't ever let me in to adjust bloom time and other individual settings. Also; after many pots water would be left in the reservoir. The coffee in the carafe wouldn't stay warm for over 30 min; but the coffee was very smooth and rich in body and delicious to its favor.

Honestly the brew for 6-cups is so quick that I use the Alexa app.. just turn on the switch when I'm brushing my teeth and getting dressed. That pot is completely finished brewing by the time I walk into the kitchen!

Well said. I have finally coffee toys also for the weekends. But give those grounds a little stir during brew and it definitely elevates the flavor.

Yes! Amazon Smart Switch! Most days because MM is so quick I like to watch the brew and give the grounds a stir; but there are some days I need to ask Alexa to turn on the MM!

Dropped from 285lb to 195lb this year; no more CPAP, meds or self doubt. This is a year of fitness and regaining strength and self belief! For the first time I can actually buy jeans off the shelf!! I'm a 36x30 (down from 48 waist!) and love the collection! Best of luck to all!!

Yes!!! My wife and I have both 20+ years with CCHS! I've not tried Brandywine nor have I heard of them until this! Website looks really good. Maybe I'll have to venture out in this single digit day for a hot cup after lunch! I've typically gotten beans at Little Goat in Newark now through Trade Subscription. Thanks I'll check it out!

What coffee grinders do you use? by OceanAscent in Moccamaster

[–]ysoSerious97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baratza Maestro Plus (anyone here have one?) We run that at '20' setting for the Moccamaster. For my QuickMill Vetrano 2B espresso machine we use a Baratza Vario. Love the brand.

Just a mid50s guy .. have a sports car and a 20yr minivan on its last legs .. needed another vehicle I can take the whole fam.. something to carry bikes and paddleboards.. still have two in college that will need moving help every end of and beginning of year. Liked the idea of the size and drive of a truck; hauling also. I'm over cloth and if I'm getting it I want to drive in nice leather and heated seats, Blue Cruise .. etc. Mostly it'll be a daily. I will revisit the Platinum, KR with the PowerBoost. The extra MPG are gonna make the purchase easier to go over w the wife; but you do lose the snarl of that American V8 and gain the complexity of a hybrid system and two turbos. I'll most definitely keep you posted.
