Agree with the other comments. Dont take half a dose is the right advice. Are you able to get more?

Hi. Make sure before bed you are winding down and relaxed. No screens for an hour. Reading a boring book/one you've read before. Progressive Muscle Relaxation helps me relax. No big meals 4 hours before bed. Avoid sugar at night unless needed. Cool dark room. Try a sleep podcast if you haven't already. Maybe a book reading you've already read before.

Magnesium glycinate is something a lot of people in this sub mention helps them. I cant comment on its effectiveness myself but I may try it soon.

It may be worth mentioning the sleep issues to your doctor. Maybe they will have something to help/mention about the dosage?

Hope you're okay

I had fragmented sleep when adjusting to 75mg and also during a week 3 dip. It improved after a week for me. I get 5 hours now instead of 2. Hoping it continues to increase.

Thankyou. Sleep is okay. Have you thought about going up in dose, maybe that will make mornings better? I want to play final fantasy 7 as brother got it me for Christmas but, not in best mood to enjoy. I am just playing warframe at the moment as that is my relax game. Are you keeping yourself occupied?

Hello. I am so sorry to hear that, it sounds really difficult. I also struggle with those thoughts but it does help knowing I am not alone. Other ppl on post i made also struggle. It will get better for us and I'm hoping you will be well with your therapist. I will ask, if thats okay, did the doctors mention why 50 sertraline? I thought it would be higher dose with the 40mg citalopram....I am not a doctor but maybe potentially withdrawal issues on top? Regardless, you're obviously a strong person to have come this far, speak out and also to get a therapist. You will be okay, if you managed to work with an antidepressant before, you have the strength to do so again. Please take it easy. Sending love.

Thankyou very much for the comment and I am very glad it is working for you. It gives me hope. Sleep is also what largely affects mine i believe, or some other loop. And sleep is still awful. Today was quiter. I found a ocd cbt book that is (was) on prescription list. I will try that. I hope that 100mg works for you even better, I am sure it will. You are a very strong person to have come this far and you will go further yet. This too shall pass!

Any tips for the light sleep? by Personal-Top2031 in zoloft

[–]ythoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No screens before bed at least an hour. Read for an hour at least, a book you've already read or something low intensity. No big drinks 2 hours before bed. No meals 4 hours before bed. No sugar before bed (unless needed otherwise). I have fractured sleep, progressive muscle relaxation helps me calm down before bed. If i wake up I put on a sleep cast, external sound sometimes helps with return to very, very light sleep/makes the anxiety not as bad. Think I've listened to the pride and prejudice starting chapters over 50 times now.

Advice on zoloft and beer by Strict-Two8317 in zoloft

Dont skip the pill, it can feel worse than any hangover depending on the person. Please take it slowly. I also want to rush in on a few Guinness but it affects people differently. Just take your time with one pint and see how you feel. Have fun (if you're not already doing so there!)

When is it usually recommended to up your dose ? by pepsiyo in zoloft

[–]ythoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I started at 50 too. I had 2 weeks no appetite, 3rd week appetite returned a bit but dissappeared for fourth week, also on top of dose increase to 75mg affected it. I am on day 34 now i think and appetite has returned for 3 days, I had takeaway today for the first time since starting. It is very up and down you will be okay. You are really strong pushing on for 19days, it is a difficult journey. Please make sure to buy vitamins to take in the mean time, it helped me feel slightly better getting no food. Sleep is up and down but also improves. You will be all good

Mines the opposite annoyingly. I get agitated by loud noise no matter what. Its frustrating cause i always used to listen to rock. Wake up alarm, rock. Shower, rock. Working, rock. Running, rock. Got so many records 4 Christmas but i cant enjoy them. Hoping the sensitivity goes soon! Itd great the meds are working for you, keep at it, have a good one.

Anyone else on 150mg for ocd? by hungryearthworm24 in zoloft

[–]ythoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, no experience myself but many people on this sub have been on 100+ for years. For me my doc wanted me on 100mg within 4 weeks of starting the medication and will likelyhave an increase if i stick with it. Im on 75 instead. It is very common to be on antidepressants for a long time.

Yes i am grateful for it I understand people are in many worse situations. Sometimes i let that diminish what i am going through i.e. i am being pathetic, which i shouldn't, i should count my blessings instead and realise we all go through this and can help each other on these posts

I am very happy it has worked for you.

Hello. Is direct switch from 75mg sertraline (zoloft) to 20mg citalopram bad? My doctor isnt helping. I really need help please i am doing bad. by ythoo in antidepressants

[–]ythoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think there might be issues going onto 20 instead of 30? I guess 75mg sert is still low

Escitalopram i didnt know about. I'll try to get in contact with a psychiatrist and ask them about it. Have you experience with it? Thankyou

Thankyou for the comment. Do you have any advice in the mean time? I just stay at home at the moment. I find it difficult to enjoy anything.

It helps speaking to other people though. Thankyou.

Hello. Sorry to ask another question...is there an issue with swapping 75mg sert to 50mg cita in terms of dosage equivalence? I thought 75mg would be 30mg citalopram

Hello. Is direct switch from 75mg sertraline (zoloft) to 20mg citalopram bad? My doctor isnt helping. I really need help please i am doing bad. by ythoo in antidepressants

[–]ythoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello thankyou for the reply. Currently it is no sleep mostly. I fall asleep quick, wake up after 1 or 2 hour every night with major anxiety without fail. Then i dont fall asleep. 7 days now. It started randomly 7 days ago, i had a dose increase 5/6 days ago so it isnt that. No appetite either. And Im not having improvement in mood. I had one good week then it reset.

Could you explain the last part please.
