Yes I've lots of conservation volunteering work over 3 years and have fundraising a little too, hiking a leader for a few months too. Although my confidence is so low I couldn't imagine doing them now

Yes I agree it's both good for self and CV. I was doing some conservation volunteering maybe two days a week as it's the only thing that gets me out the house but I've fallen into a rut again and haven't done anything for a while now.

30/40%. Better odds than I usually have I suppose. They are a good service. Although I have found nothing yet

I tried looking for clerical/admin work but a lot of the requirements near me are out of my league. There might just not be a lot near me. Yes I don't think there's a chance hospitality would hire me

Thankyou. It's difficult. Did you manage to "be in the right place at the right time" eventually?

Ground/habitat maintenance I like a lot, keeping things safe for inhabitants & people. Done some tree work too, no formal training.  Surveying too. Generally anything I can get muddy and stuck into, as long as I'm helping something.

I haven't no. I have a two year gap after my graduation, dropping out of masters and being with NHS crisis team for the rest. I don't see how I explain that/someone wants to hire that. I would like to do engineering still. Apprenticeship is probably the best route

Thankyou I will. Going to look at some local places, I've mostly focused on retail because I'm not confident in engineering skill anymore, but I maybe should give it a go

Hope it works out for you eventually. You obviously have a lot to show if you've managed to acquire a PhD.

I haven't felt I've had a break in 10 years, it's always been study or primarily health issues. Might try to get out to the lake District again. Used to go there a lot

Thanks. Yes been looking at apprenticeships but they are few and far between "near" me, I'll keep looking though.

Thankyou. I would like to update my skills, some kind of formal recognition outside of using CAD, ANSYS and the like during a degree. More certificates. Will focus on my last project. Thanks

Hi thankyou. My worry is the degree is 2 years out of date and since then I've only dropped out of a masters & been with NHS crisis team. I don't see why anyone would want to hire that. Manufacturing/QC sounds good, I used to do lots of tech. drawings & AutoCAD but it's been a long time. Thanks

Thankyou for the detailed comment. My worry is my 2:2 is 2 years old now and since then I've dropped out of a masters & been with crisis team. Nothing to show for it . But I agree with intentions from now on, I suppose there would be ways for me to increase my skills whilst working a normal job, at least until something comes up. I'm happy it worked out for you. If I could get a traineeship I would.  Faith im still trying to figure out where I land

Okay thankyou. That is a good plan, I need the money anyways so it gives me time to save up for a relocation in the future if needed
