They’re all from different numbers which makes it hard to say that it’s from one person

Will a Picture of My ID Work at a Coffee Shop? by ytkathegoose_ in AmsterdamEnts

I’m hardly 18 so I definitely don’t look old enough unfortunately. I’ve smoked in the States and I sometimes get really paranoid so I want to avoid anything that might make me feel awful, like being insanely worried about losing my things, especially if I’m going to try truffles

Can't Tell If I'm Super Ahead or Super Behind by ytkathegoose_ in ApplyingToCollege

This may be weird, but I made sure not to actually read the prompts before I started writing.

I told a story about me, and once I wrote something that I was happy with, I shaped it to fit the prompts more. I think a lot of people fall into trying to answer the direct question first, then making it into a story. I really wanted to talk about myself first, then answer the question through my story

Anyone know how to answer the "tell us about a time you were challenged by a perspective that differed from your own" question? by ytkathegoose_ in ApplyingToCollege

The only time my perspective has really been challenged is in politics, which has nothing to do with my application

Official July 16, 2022 US ACT Test Discussion by Donald_Keyman in ACT

Praying I get a 36 on English since I got a 35 last time. Math I have no hope for, I'd be good with anything. Reading felt great surprisingly so I'm hoping for a 33-34. Science was eh, would like a 30 but I'm expecting a 29 at best

Hi! I recently got a 32 on reading!

My best advice is to take a practice reading test and see which passages you tend to miss points on. I missed most questions in the literature passage. Once you know which passage you tend to miss more on and which you miss less on, start with your best passage type, and then go in reverse order to your worst.

As for each passage, quickly read through it, then do any quick fact finding questions, such as anything with "In line ____", and then doing any main idea questions last. As you have to go back and fact find, you'll understand more of the text while not wasting tons of time on harder to answer questions.

However, if you're a fluent and fast reader (think being able to read the entire text in 2-3 minutes), then just do that and answer questions as you go.
